McGahey - Kendals Dark.
Here we have quite a basic blend. I'd say it qualifies as being more of a Shag Cut in comparison to the current listing on here of Ready Rubbed. So, it's quite a fine shag, fairly dark in colour, with a good moisture amount when fresh from the pouch.
I have to disagree with the current specification on here of this being a straight Virginia: there has to be a large quantity of Kentucky/Burley in there. The smoke has quite a nutty attribute to it, with a sort of Kentucky fired note. It's the fiery flavour that lets it down: what starts off as being smoky and pleasant, sadly progresses to being acrid.
It's strong with nicotine, albeit not too toxic; I'd say 'strong' only, not any more.
This is an alright smoke: a decent burn, it delivers a good punch of N, and the room-note's quite nice. For me though, it doesn't deserve any more than two stars.
Somewhat recommended.
