I sold a few tins of this on my website and kept one for myself. It was from the late 1980s or early 1990s and I just had to try it. What a fun old smoke! Pure 100% Burley with a lot of it being sweetened by a casing that had faded considerably over the years. A sweet stewed like flavor washed over my palate with every puff as well as some unrelenting good old timey strength. Talk about taking one back to the days of yesteryear, this dandy did the trick.

I was able to find an unopened tin of this at a local antique shop and I had to find out what was inside. It surely had faded over time, but it pretty much tasted like Edgeworth RR to me, it is a loose cut Burley with a sweet casing. Not bad, but it would have been better 30 years ago, god knows where this was stored, but I’m sure it was in less than ideal conditions for tobacco longevity. Cool tins if you come across them, but I’d leave the tobacco sealed up.
