About Me

I have a serious case of Pipe Acquisition Disorder. I had 150 pipes when I made the conscious decision to stop buying them and start trying to sell some. However, I still haven't sold any. I always find ways to convince myself to keep even the pipes I never smoke from. I have 15 Georg Jensen pipes, since Jensen pipes were what I focused on when I started buying pipes. They were on par with good Stanwell pipes, but less than half the price... so I became kind of an expert in Georg Jensen pipes. Unfortunately, their price has since gone up some... I guess people realized their relative quality. Other than that, I have a fairly eclectic mix of pipes. A couple Dunhill's, some S&R Straight Grains, older Peterson's, and lots of random brands. But my favorite pipes are the old, pre-war French ones, especially with the "percage courbe" bend in the shank. They're hard to find, but I do have a few.

As for tobaccos, the same drive to collect goes for them. One of the great joys of smoking a pipe, for me, is trying out new blends. My cellar is getting to be just as outrageous as my pipe collection.

Most of my ratings are 3 and 4 stars because I tend to review blends that I really enjoy. I'm trying to be a bit more conservative with my ratings though... but so many blends are just so good!
