Prompted by the wonderful smells emanating from my college roommate’s Savinelli, I decided to visit a tobacco shop and get a pipe. That first visit was in 1979 at the Bessai Pipe Clinic in Cleveland. I was immediately attracted to the traditional looking tins and started off with a variety of Dunhill tobaccos. After school I frequented a Tinder Box near where I worked and I bought Comoys and Savinellis that are still in active duty to this day.
