Retired college teacher - computer studies.

I was a pipe smoker (alternating with cigarettes) in the 70's and 80's. At that time, we were much restricted to the local tobacco shop and being a small city, we had only one. So I smoked MacBaren Golden Extra in Brigham pipes (had one meerschaum as a gift). I inhaled my pipes.

I quit all forms of smoking in the early 90's, but told myself it needn't be forever.

Now, in 2019, with the internet providing so many sources of pipes, tobaccos and reviews/commentary, I've decided to return to pipe smoking on a daily bowl or two basis, without inhaling. (I could never have succeeded at that while addicted to nicotine).

There certainly are a wide variety of tobaccos to try. This site is providing much valuable assistance in making choices. So far (March 2019), I've tried Orlik Golden Sliced (favorite to date), G.L.Pease Chelsea Morning, and a few house blends from Country Squire and 4noggins.

When I feel confident about writing reviews of my own, I'll chirp up. 😊
