I don't know what people mean by a "nicotine hit".
I've been rating tobaccos longer than I've been a member of this site. I used six grades, which was enough. This is how I translate them to Tobaccoreview's four star system:
4 stars: I could smoke this exclusively;
3,5 stars: not as good as 4 stars, but I could still smoke this exclusively;
3 stars: good, but I wouldn't want to smoke this exclusively; ticks most boxes but not all;
2,5 stars: enjoyable at the right moment, but I probably wouldn't buy it again;
2 stars: there's something about it that isn't my thing;
1 star: there's something about it I dislike.
To decide whether a 3,5 becomes a 3 or a 4, or a 2,5 becomes a 2 or a 3, I ask myself whether I would highly recomend it, recommend it, or somewhat recommend it.
