I spend a lot of time outdoors with my pipes, hiking, fishing, canoeing & blacksmithing. I look for a smoke which tastes good but I do not have to worry about "maintaining." I can prepack a pipe, carry it around, in a bag, in my pocket, lite it once and smoke it all the way through.
