History professor, writer and researcher, children's athletics coach, inveterate junkie of the printed word. I've smoked pipes since fifteen, have grown to relish puffing in moderation, and hope to continue until the end of my days. That said, I'm a tobacco novice.
I have a collection of pipes from the low- to mid-range in value, if not quality. I'm not wedded to any particular pipe or type of pipe, to be honest. I'm a bit abashed to admit that I have a weakness for older Kaywoodies. To me, they smack of much of what made the U.S. a great land. They are well-made of high quality materials, cost very little, and work very well. Delightful!
