Manufactured according to age-old processes, Gawith, Hoggarth & Co.'s Black Irish X offers pressed and blackened Virginia leaf, hand-spun into traditional rope form. While all of Gawith, Hoggarth & Co.'s rope-cut tobaccos are robust, because the leaf is partially cooked, Black Irish X provides a mellower smoke than the stronger Brown Irish X, making it the perfect blend to recommend to customers unfamiliar with rope tobaccos.
