Wessex Curly Block Tobacco Pipe 9.70 oz

What a tobacco – excellent. Cut, rub, put in the pipe and smoke - I don't let this tobacco dry, but smoke it directly and that fits perfectly. The taste is medium-bodied but consistent, with notes of stewed dark plums, orange peel, sweet grass, rich earth, spices, bread, slightly lemony, slightly bitter but sweet. This tobacco doesn't bite your tongue - it's mild and tastes good. Virginia is the leader, Perique in the second row (but not as peppery) and provides brilliant depth. The very nutty, slightly spicy and floral, moderately rough, strong Burley plays a strong supporting role. It seems that there are toppings at work here that enrich the tobacco rather than overwhelm it. The nicotine content is in the middle, as is the taste. You can smoke this tobacco all day long and you will always enjoy it.

I started with aromatics but these days I pick them up a lot less. I’ve been on a VaPer kick for a while now. I’m not great at describing tobacco. I can say that I’ve tried (and enjoy) most of the good VaPers. This one is my favorite so far. A friend gave me a little to try so I liked it before I saw the price. Even though it costs more than my other top picks I will keep this one at the house. I’ve ordered 3 now so I can age a few.

This is a quality and unique blend a solid VA-Per with no bite. The only reason to pass is the price it’s just not worth the inflated price tag but I’ll cellar the last half and see how it is after a couple years I imagine it will age beautifully.
