Bold and memorable, the Samuel Gawith 1792 Flake is a heady blend of Dark Fired Kentucky and Virginias with a topping of Tonka Bean (you might know it as Tonquin). The result is a sophisticated blend that pleases the most mature and discerning of pipe smokers. But beware, this blend packs a punch in both strength and flavor.

An absolute must for all pipe smokers! Enjoy slowly with a good book or any quiet time. This one is a thinking persons smoke. Always have on hand for a trip back in time.

It’s really good. Strong and flavorful! Room note is nice and beard note is even nicer.

Love, love love this stuff. I can't get enough. Some may not like the Tonq topping, but I think it's great!! I sometimes mix this with GH Dark Kendall.

I have smoked 1792 for years , very enjoyable. It should be used by a experienced pipe smoker.

    Love this flake

Posted by Sean Faires on 4th Jul 2018

This was my first time with this blend. The tin note is different with the tonquin bean extract. I love the unique tin note, dark, rich, earthy, and for lack of a better way to describe it . . . a roasted bean. My wife says it stinks in the tin like something dead. I strongly disagree. My eldest daughter loved the tin note and disagrees with her mom also. The smoke is deep, rich, earthy, and has a depth that you don't find in a lot of blends. Room note is pleasant, and my wife says the room note smells nothing like the tin note and she barely notices it when I smoke it. Wife approved, and I really, really like this blend. I just hope I can keep enough in my cellar until the next shipment.
