Newminster No. 403 Superior Round Slice Pipe Tobacco

This is my favorite tobacco. It has all the earthy, bbq notes you’d expect from DFK with just the right amount of Virginia to add a little sweetness. Imagine a cinnamon toothpick left in a smoker.

The combination of the dark fired Kentucky and Virginia make for a very enjoyable smoke. To me it tastes like cinnamon toothpicks that have been placed in a smoker burning hickory.

Its okay not really my style though

Incredibly harsh and flat tasting. Leaves a slightly bitter taste in the mouth. I "might" use a bit to blend into a wet aromatic to help with burn rate. Or just chuck it.

09 OCT, 2020 I broke open the baggie that this came in just to get a whiff. The nose note was of grasses and hay with a hint of citrus and molasses and an undertone of smokiness. This smells very good and I cannot wait to try it. Upon first charring light there is not much to write home about. It starts of somewhat bland but eventually builds to being a little spicy and has a good flavor. I can say this is one of my favorites. This might be a whole bunch better with some age. I'm going to let the 4oz bag age a bit. This is a damn good Virginia blend.

Excellent tobacco, very soft in smoking, no strength is felt, provides cool smoking. I will definitely buy more.
