The Mixture blend from Mac Baren is an old favorite. Made since the late 1950s, it’s a mild Aromatic flavored with liquor, vanilla and other mysterious bits. A blend of many different tobaccos, it will have you reminiscing about an afternoon fishing with your grandfather.

Mac Baren Mixture
Oh the reward that awaits the slow sipper! There is a lot going on, yet at the same time it is all in sync. Each sip has a different nuance. I will be adding this to my rotation , wonderful!

Mac Baren
Very dry, lots of stems.

Smell out of tin was okay
It tastes better than it smelled coming out of the tin. Cellaring most of it in hopes of it maturing a bit. The taste was mild. Probably a blend I wouldn't buy again.

MacBaren Mixture Scottish Pipe Tobacco
It's my first time smoking a tobacco pipe in a while. This tobacco has a nice aroma... in the bag & after lighting. It's a bit strong but I don't think it's overpowering.

First time in over 30 years...
I had placed my pies in a drawer for 30+ years, but decided to jump back in the pool. Forgotten what I used to smoke and decided on Scottish and Modern to start. Perhaps a bit bold on my part, but actually I have been enjoying both (outside). Neither were as harsh as I recalled from my earlier days, and do have a bite, but not overwhelming. The Nicotine hit is a bit hard, but nothing worse than a cigar. The Scottish is more on the robust side than Modern. What I remember my grandfather smoking. Don't believe I will light this indoors though.

Robust
This is what i think they call rubbed flakes it makes for a good strong flavor that is not overly sweet.
