Mac Baren HH Balkan Blend Pipe Tobacco

This is the wonderful pipe tobacco blend that brought me into the Bulkan world.

This was purchased as part of the HH 3 year aged (now 4 years) tobaccos. I will say that I would rate this higher if I wasn't expecting a Balkan, however, I find this smokes more like a red virginia than what I expect from a Balkan. The initial light screams red virginia (which I DO like), all other tobaccos are lost in its presence. About midway through the bowl the orientals add an additional citrusy flourish and maybe near the end of the bowl there is latakia...maybe not. The volume of smoke is very nice and the burley is only contributing to nicotine as far as I am concerned. Maybe a not so aged tin would feel more like a Balkan, I may by a new tin to re-assess this review. Thanks for your time.

My first time with this, good latakia flavor smooth burning, a good English misture. I trait in a Barling Block Meerschaum 5386 Prince Shape.

This is a great blend that smokes cool and has a great smoky flavor with that light perfume finish. It is moist in the tin, so a little drying time makes it burn very well. Mild flavor for an English blend. No Lat bomb here although, I love Latakia and have never experienced the dreaded bomb! Will keep this one in the rotation and recommend it to anyone that likes quality English blends.

Really excellent flavor and awesome tobacco room note. This is my favorite Balkan blend to taste and for the money the HH line is some of the cleanest tobacco out there.

This Great tasting pipe tobacco blend was a complete surprise to me. I didn't expect such a mild and flavorful smoke. I smoke several blends and find that this is the one I run out of more often than the others. I am very impressed by the many Quality Blends made at Mac Baren.

My ne go-to for an all day smoke.
