This Krumble Kake blend was created by Cornell & Diehl to be a smooth mix of Virginia and Burley for Danish pipe maker Peter Heeschen. Briar Fox is medium to mild blend that works well as a daily smoker.

    Briar Fox

Very little tin aroma. There is a little virginia sweetness and fullness from the burley. The C&D blends have the character bitterness from the burley. But it's tedious, and not worth my time.

    sweet spot

This tobacco is really good, i've smoked this in a cob and there is a nice little sweet spot as your smoking it, at least with me I get an almost salty sweet, that savory feeling, if you are in to a more "natural" flavor, give it a go.

    BRIAR FOX PIPE TOBACCO

Like it in the morning with coffee using it for a change from Red Odessa which is my everyday preference; imo citrusy goes good with bold coffee with a sweetner added...

    Nothing Special

This blend is weird. I like it a lot for about the first 1/4 of the bowl. The Burley and Virginia play nicely together, and it's perfectly pleasant. Sort of like Cater Hall, but less sweet. The problem happens after that, as it gets increasingly more and more bitter and ashy as the bowl progresses, even if smoked very slowly. It ends leaving an aftertaste of a cheap cigarette. Not my thing.

    Not my bag.

I am not a fan of this tobacco. It has little to no flavor. It just isn't for me.

    Instantly Delicious

    Posted by B P on 24th Jun 2021

I fell in love right away. So naturally, I wondered why? How do I understand and replicate this? Well, it was my first crumble cake so I ordered a few other brands to do some comparison, which is still to come. Meanwhile, I find myself both thinking of and reaching for, this ever-depleting tin to load my pipe. (It burns well in everyone so far.) I started looking into the blend and found that it has some Burley. I wondered if I was getting a little more nicotine, and the nicotine was getting a little more of me? I reached out to the makers and really didn't get any details about nicotine content, other than it can vary slightly and will affect each person differently .... Anyway, I just gave in and keep on smoking this easy-burning, delicious tasting blend. And I've ordered 4 more, for now .......

    Krumble Kake Fun

I like VaBur's and this one knocks it out of the park. Quality tobacco and it packs a good bit of vitamin N. This is a good all day smoke for when you are working outside. A good smoke but not so complex that it takes away from the task at hand. a perfect mixture of rich nutty burley with just enough aged Virginia to keep it interesting. Great out of the tin and I am sure will become even better with age.

    A great everyday tobacco.

Damn good tobacco. If you like Virginia's, then you'll probably like this. Has a butter note to it. The burly is subtle, and doesn't taste like cardboard, which is nice. Burns at the right moisture all the way down to the dottle. I find that it helps to tear off flake pieces from the cake and pack it that way rather than tearing it into ribbons.
