Wessex burley slices is one the best burley tobaccos.

This is a beautiful flake of dark & light browns, speckled with bright, with a sweet, earthy tin note of molasses, anise or aniseed, which is from Middle English “anece seed”, which has a licorice like taste. This is not a aromatic; the topping only enhances the natural cocoa, and the other wonderful nuances of high quality Burley tobaccos, which I love above all other varieties. The taste builds throughout the bowl, & some have said it one sided, but to a burley connoisseur, it becomes very complex with shades of hazelnut, dark chocolate, vanilla, & cinnamon. It is a slow burning, rewarding smoke that it is above medium in strength & flavor, that will not bite even when pushes hard. This is supposed to be about as close to the original formula of “Edgeworth Flake” as one can get without scoring a tin of that beloved, but unfortunately discontinued masterpiece., So if you love Burley, this in my opinion after comparing it to Solanis’s ABF, Mac Baren’s Burley flake, & all of the others...
