Carter Hall pipe tobacco
My favorite tobacco. I believe it is now made in the Dominican Republic instead of here in the states, but it is still tasty. It has that same chocolatey taste that the burley had before. It is smooth and does not bite.

A simple and good all day smoke.

Carter Hall Pleases
I was pleasantly surprised with this tobacco. It is easy to smoke, smooth and is not one to bite me. I find myself grabbing a bowl more frequently than I expected! I smoke everything from the codger blends to the more expensive tinned tobaccos. I’ll always have a can on my shelf.

I enjoy Carter Hall pipe tobacco.
Will I be able to order the 1.5 oz. pouches of tobacco?

Baseline
In the beginning .... Well, really, in the beginning I purchased mostly vanilla based aromatics from my local tobacco shop and began puffing away. I tried, and tried, and tried. The flavors and smells were fine and dandy but my tongue was truly suffering - lots of bite from those for me. I thought I had nothing to lose by trying something "cheaper", and a little pouch of Carter Hall was one of a few I got at a corner tobacco store. It taught me there was more to pipe smoking than vanilla aromatics. And then it wasn't available - anywhere. But I delved into quality tins of all kinds here from TobaccoPipes and my exploration has taken off to multiple other blends and styles. But guess what, when this became available again I actually picked up a full tub of it. I often smoke it alone as one of my 2-4 daily bowls. I don't hesitate to use it for blending as it will tame down a "biter", mellow out something stiff, or loosen up one that has trouble burning. It has multiple purposes for me. And as such, it is my "baseline". It is inexpensive yet pleasant and can always be counted on. It helps make all my other tins just a little more special as compared to my "baseline" tobacco.

ALL HAIL THE HALL.
EXCELLENT BUY IT don't even think about it. It's not a blend it's an ancient american rite of passage. 50/50 carter hall/velvet mix cured my corona. If you want tasting notes find some silly dude with a try hard beard and laughable hat, ask him. He will talk about cocoa and nuts and all manner of silliness. It's burleycentric. It's good. Stop. Just buy it.
