Not for Beginners
First, let me state that I have only been pipe smoking for 2 years so am a novice. In my quest to understand different tobaccos and blends, I ordered straight tobacco types from TP…(great store by the way). I have tried straight Virginia, Latakia, Orientals & Periques. As far as Sutliff Perique, it was definitely an eye opener. Kicked my arse. Strong and peppery. I gave it 3 stars as MY opinion. As far as a straight Perique, this may be a great tobacco but I have no other brands to compare to or have the experience to judge fairly. It may do well blending but I am too new in getting into custom blending just yet. It’s just not for me.

My purchase is twofold. To smoke straight and to use in blending. Haven't blended with it yet. But, I can you it smokes very cool, dry, and mild. More mild than I expected. My first unadulterated Perique smoke. So I have nothing to compare it against yet. We'll see how well it blends when I get to that. Cheers.

This product is uniquely sourced and cannot be duplicated.. Using it as a blender, it arrived in its original factory sealed bag as expected.. But what also cannot be duplicated is the outstanding service I received from Tobacco Pipes! Upon placing a rather large order of this item, I forgot to include a promo code that would ensure a significant discount. Even after processing the order, before I could explain the details of my mistake, an absolutely delightful customer service rep immediately rectified the problem. These are good people with which to do business. If a sixth star were available, I'd add that too! :-)
