Thanks, I’m not sure when I’ll be able to try any of these - I’m still working through what I have and trying to enjoy them before I crack new tins. But I suppose it’ll never be cheaper than it is today

You bit on the $5 tin of 2023 Cringle. 😂 It makes sense. No shade.

But they apparently can't even almost give it away.

What a great haul.

Called it 😆 To be fair, I’ve never had ANY of this - so it’s all an adventure in discovery each time for me, and at $5 why not

I've had it in my cart several times. But I haven't noticed eded it to get free shipping and took it out again.

This  thread  from another forum makes me laugh everytime I read it. 2023 Cringle made people legit mad online. 😂

I just got a WatchCity order. Half pound of Golden Extra and they have HH Burley Flake and Navy Flake in bulk by the oz. Haven't seen either in bulk. Maybe I've just not paid attention.

Nothing fancy, just a couple of Capstan, because yes 😊

I´m stocking Capstan Blue to prevent future changes. Only God knows what will do STG wit all the blends made by Mac Baren. My instinct tells me they all will change and not for better.

Not by now, but wait... . This is a very respectable blend, a clear favorite for many smokers, and affordable. In Spain is 9,50€ a tin, so it´s easy to make a stash for the bad times to come.

That’s great! It’s $20 per tin here in the US right now.

Here in Switzerland it's 15 francs a tin, one of the cheapest; G.L.Pease and C&D are about 22 francs a 2oz tin.

As Bee said: you might not get a chance to buy it cheaper in the future.

I do stock up on it every now and then as well… age won’t hurt this lovely tobacco

Capstan Blue, like all straight Virginia blends, improves noticeably with age. I know a smoker who ages it for ten or more years and it´s much better. Softer with a deeper flavor.

I don´t go out of any of my reference tobacconist without a purchase. The McConnel Latakia has a relative recent tin date so is Cyprian Latakia for sure. The Torben Dansk Cyprus Latakia was the last tin in the shop, it´s beginning to be scarce. It´s been a long time since the last time I smoked RM Latakia Flake and London Blend 1000 is maybe my most stocked tobacco. It´s that good.

Currently trying Revor Plug and I like it already, although I suspect that it will benefit from some ageing.

Didn't snap a pic, but yesterday brought me: C&D Big n' Burley, Sutliff TS12 Dark Fire Cured, Drucquer & Sons Levant Mixture, Tabac Vincent Manil Semois La Brumeuse, G&H Balkan Blend, and Rattray Bagpiper's Dream.

Had a bowl of the Big n' Burley last evening, and it was pleasant, though was difficult to keep lit in my clay. It'll take a few more bowls for me to form a real opinion, but it looks promising.

The G&H Balkan was delightful. Fine shag cut, a little moist, but it lit quickly, smoked easily, and had the balkan aroma that I love.

Looking forward to trying the others as I empty some open jars to make room in the "currently smoking" chest.

I go hot and cold on Big N Burley. I get a lot more than just a hint of Latakia, which is not a bad thing. But every 3rd bowl or so just smoke dry and bitter to me. I'd skip it for Haunted Bookshop most times.

Five more “new-to-me” KBV blends. Now I need to buy more jars, or finish up some nearly-empty ones. (Sigh… there are definitely worse problems to have… not complaining 😜)

Really playing to CA stereotype with the Spiced Chai, huh, @joseph? 😂 I bet it's good.

I'm curious how you find Burley Morning Pipe compared to Handsome Stranger. I'm guessing they're similar with more coffee vs chocolate topping on BMP.

Please let me know how Dread Planet is.  I almost ordered some just now, but it was described as a heavier side of Perique, so I held off.

The Navy Flake on „recommendation” @Relight and a high rating VA flake I learned about here in the forum.
HBS and Paddington are in my personal Top10 and as prices only go up I believe stocking up can’t be completely wrong.

I don’t know why, but I’m thinking that smoking is deadly, for some reason.  Can someone explain why I’m thinking that suddenly? I can’t place it… 🤔

How can you even see what kind of tobacco is inside of the tin after all three languages paste their respective warnings over the label?? 😬

As the days grow shorter, and the evenings crisp, a man's thoughts turn back to Latakia.

Most of their stuff is still really low.  I think they were putting their time into the Halloween series and the regular offerings backed up.  I was really hoping for a Kraken Bar, but it was still out.

For some mysterious reasons I just bought a tobacco I'd never purchase, as I keep myself away from anything with the even lightest topping.

We'll see what happens...

How different can be our tastes. This was a "Never again blend" since 1986. It was my second Never again blend.

I still don't understand why I like it, as I don't understand why I don't like Bayou Morning flake...

But then, why be logical? 🤪

Who knows... Last year I loved a well regarded blend, (I don´t want to name it). This year I smoked it again (Tins were of the very same batch), and this time, I didn´t like it at all and I felt sick smoking it. I had to smoke it with a great dose of Syrian Latakia to be acceptable. Can anyone explain it?. The problem is that I have four tins left.

Restock of Boswell’s Northwoods. I doubt I will ever have this tobacco in long term storage. Goes too quick. 😐

One tin SG Best Brown Flake, 2 tins of SG Full Virginia Flake and 4 tins of 10 months old Capstan Blue. Need to keep my summer stash reasonably stocked so it has time to age. Capstan Blue tins in the Spanish market have a notable age for tins from the shelf.
