I'd rather not smoke as time is to precious as to waste it with those two blends.
Hard choice but if I must pick one it would have to be Captain Black
I'll say Captain Black for two simple reasons. I don't care for 1Q at all. And I do like Mac Baren 7Seas White, which I hear is their version of CB. No, that's not quite right. I don't hate 7Seas and Mrs. Rookie loves when I smoke that, and I like when Mrs. Rookie loves things I like.
1q has never been as good as Captain black, also Captain black has a more distinctive note in the air. Much more recognizable, whereas 1q could be mistaken for many different tobaccos. And people who say they taste the same, are in way over their head.
Captain Black (original/white) is nostalgic for me, as it's the blend I started my pipe journey with. Nowadays I'd say HGL... I love the English-Aromatic crossover genre!
Captain Black by a bit. Nicer room note and flavors to me. Seems much improved over past incarnations.
1q. Cheaper
Not a big fan of either, but 1Q is more repeatable for me.
