The most recent order (last month) that I received of a Mac Baren tobacco was already over a year and an half old when I received it. I suspect there is a lot still in the pipeline, so to speak. At that rate, changes may take a while to show up.

The two tins of Capstan I just bought are from 2022 and 2023, that confirms what you're saying 😊

I was told that stocks in Spain are huge. My last Capstan purchase was of thins made in July 2023, so I think the stocks will last for a while.

My stock of Mac Baren Latakia blends is enough for the next 5-6 years, so I´m well served. Same with Capstan.

I´m not worried because next year G.L. Pease and C&D will return to Spain and HU will also be available, so there is much excellent stuff to purchase and enjoy in a near future.

I just took a look at the Mac Baren website and changes are underway. New art design for the Mac Baren line and no images of the tobacco blends anymore. I suppose that may be a EU regulation. More interesting but ominous is some former blends are no longer listed. The other blends in the St. Bruno category are absent like Original(Walnut) Flake and Highland Mixture. The Amsterdamer Blends are only showing two and no more Scaferlati blends. I would have liked to try Walnut Flake but has never been available to us across the pond.

In some ways, I also see this move as a survival need for pipe smoking.  It’s not popular enough to continue on without the revenue from cigar companies.  So, while there are many ominous possibilities, at least there’s the chance that some good blends will continue to be available versus going bankrupt and disappearing forever. 😑
