Hello! I have been a piper since 1988 but only recently joined communities on the internet. From Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and a patron of Thomas Hinds Tobacconists there since their opening. Currently enjoying cobs and SPC Plum Pudding, both new to me through internet commerce. I look forward to in-depth discussions around tobacco to broaden my reignited interest in an old hobby.
Hello from Michigan!
Hello, and Greetings from the Great American South Western desert state of Arizona. I almost said the state of confusion, but that's another topic.
I've been an on-and-off piper since the ripe old age of 18. I started with a blue corn cob with a natural shank and a white stem. It smelled like maple syrup. A friend, an old man I used to listen to frequently, told me to go to X tobacconist and ask for "Fred's Blend." I was smitten. It was a cocoa-vanilla aromatic of Black Cavendish and sweet, rich Golden Virginia.
I had a tobacconist friend try to duplicate that many years later. He did pretty well, but just couldn't hit the mark. After smoking my pipes, off and on, for 47 years the closest I can come is Lane's RLP-6.
I am an aromatic smoker who likes 1-Q, Modern Mixture, and Peter Stokkebye's 201 Black Cavendish Vanilla.
