Hello all,

A newbie to pipe smoking, just over 6 weeks now. Late starter as I'm in my 50's but loving it. My dad smoked pipes which I vividly recall...hoping to continue the tradition.

Thanks for reading & wishing you all the best from England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Hello from Michigan! Sam Smith’s makes a lot of great pairings to a pipe. I often have an urge for an Oatmeal Stout when I smoke Coniston Cut Plug 🙂

Good morning Ted,

TBF, I haven't had a Sam Smiths for some time...surprisingly, not as easy to source here in the north as it once was (back in the day there was a Sam Smiths pub in walking distance no matter where you happened to be) ☹️

Love a good stout, but - again - not popular here in Yorkshire sadly...Guinness is about your lot 👎

All the very best & thanks for the welcome 😊

That’s really sad to hear. 🙁 The world does too much changing and not always for the best. I have many fond memories of Sam Smith’s Pubs in the north, both the beer and the people, but it has been over thirty years now since I spent time there.

Amen to that brother 👍

Indeed, the landscape of northern England has changed, not for the best, considerably since I was in my late teens/ early twenties...I'd wager you'd find it almost unrecognisable if you were graced to visit again. Of course, there are still some protected havens but they're few & far between nowadays.
