I've been using this great site for a few years but only just got around to logging in. Started using the pipe back in the 70's & was introduced to the much missed Barling Royal Hunt.

I now live in Turkey & smoke mainly a local brand called Bosphorus. It's made using mainly high quality turkish grown tobacco & in my humble opinion some of his blends are as good as some of the best available from anywhere in the world.

Hey there and greetings from Turkey as well!

I have seen the Bosphorus blends on social media but haven't gotten my fingers on them yet. Which ones are your favorite or would you recommend trying?

Which area are you in ? I've tried nearly all his blends & the aromatics are to sweet for me but the "proper" blends are all good. Navy & Balkan Flakes are superb, as are a some of his own blends, 1453, Value flake, grasshopper & private to name but a few. But my current favourite is his latest release V&P Flake, its a Virginia Perique with a hint of tonka bean.

If you live over here then you will be aware of the situation regarding baccy supplies so Bosphorus is under the table & because of that its not taxed so as a community we protect him by using names like amca, doctor, ect so tell me something about yourself & I'll see what I can do.

Hello from Michigan! I have never been able to try any local Turkish tobacco, but I have at least fifty pipes that were made in Turkey.
