One of my first forays into the English world of pipe tobacco, and it has fond memories for me. Unfortunately my 19 year old palate was not ready for this tobacco......and neither was my budget.......and I finished off the tin and went on to other more affordable entries. I do remember my college professor smoking this all the time, which was the reason I smoked a pipe AND tried this tobacco in the first place. It was very tasty, and, at least the tin I had, was dried out to a smoke able level. For me at the time, it had lots of Latakia in it. I would dearly love to have a go of it now, but alas, only in my memories.
My experience with this blend very much parallels that of Kribbage - I also discovered it while in college where I was motivated to learn to smoke a pipe due to the fact that several professors who I admired did so (some even while giving their lectures). I was immediately fascinated by the tin note in which the orientals seemed to provide a slightly sour nutty background for the not overpowering latakia. Too good and too complex for me, to truly appreciate at the time.
