Gawith, Hoggarth & Co. Exclusive Black Bourbon
(3.00)
A fantastic blend made in Germany from rich black cavendish tobaccos, with a great flavour of Kentucky Bourbon. Double fermented to give it a sweet strong aroma yet making it mild to medium in strength.

Gawith Hoggarth-Exclusive Black Bourbon. This has to be one of the blackest mix's I've seen! It says ready rubbed but I would describe it more as coarse cut, they're rather chunky pieces. The smell is a no-nonsense aromatic bourbon one so there's no misunderstanding what it contains. The moistness is a little over the top so it needs a decent airing period.
Once aired, packed and lit the taste is almost identical to the blends aroma. It's like a very sweet whiskey. I assume that the sweetness emanates mainly from the Black Cavendish and this works perfectly at relaxing the slight sourness from the whiskey. Although the added taste is fairly strong it doesn't seem at all harsh, it's equally chilled out as it is easy to identify.
The nicotine amount is quite miniscule, this seems to be the perfect evening smoke to enjoy with a nice tipple!
The room note appeals to me quite a lot. Fairly full, very sweet with the obvious whiskey addition.
I didn't hold much hope for this blend, I was expecting a boring whiskey aromatic but I enjoy it quite a lot! Recommended.
