This blend has little tobacco taste, just a little grass, and a hint of black cavendish. Doesn't bite or get harsh. Has very little nicotine. Needs a bit of dry time, and burns wet and a little slow with a consistent flavor. The after taste is pleasant, but short lived. Leaves too much moisture in the bowl, and needs a fair amount of relights. An all day smoke.

Sutliff Tobacco Co. - Whiskey Cavendish #11.

In the pouch black Cavendish only accounts for a tiny amount of the blend, it's mostly Burley and Virginia. The mixture includes a higher amount of coarse ribbons. The moisture couldn't be any better.

The flavour of it's nice enough: a medium quantity of whiskey and lots more Burley and Virginia compared to black Cavendish; the black Cavendish could go easily unnoticed. But although the smoke has quite an inoffensive flavour, what causes me problems are the mechanics: it burns warm and can issue a bite if pushed by only a little.

Nicotine: a little below medium. Room-note: not great.

Whiskey Cavendish #11? The taste isn't bad, but the physical attributes (burn and bite) let it down. Somewhat recommended:

Two stars.

Sutliff aromatics can be a toss up, but this bulk blend is excellent-especially in a cob. Upon opening the bag there is a strong but very inviting Whiskey presence. Which is strong upon light up but mellows out after that. Smooth and not overly sweet with a hint of nuttiness. There's an oak barrel like quality from the Whiskey somewhere in the background. In a brylon pipe it should be packed full but light, as this blend requires a little breathing space and may burn slightly hot in these type of pipes. The ocassional tamper will combat this. Room note was nice and subtle. Waving the bowl under my nose between puffs assured me this was high quality leaf and Whiskey used. I like this blend more than Smoker's Pride, which I mix with Carter Hall. I smoked right out of the pouch, but you might prefer smoking this after a little drying time. No need to add or enhance. Simply put, SWC is complete on it's own. Reasonably priced to boot. Warmly recommended. UPDATE 3-17-15 jarred this a few days ago. Still moist but not goopy or wet. Flavor is very balanced. The whiskey seems a little more lively but consistent. The Virginia's give a nice round citrus/sweet note. Burley is a little more noticeable and is the binder in this blend. The Green River doesn't overpower or become too smokey. Oak and honey element come out and add a bit of nuance. Next, I'll give SWC a little drying time and give an update on my experience. Did I mention how much I like this blend.
