This blend is very tasty, the maple is the prominent flavor with the rum taking a back seat, but occasionally makes it's presence known recommended for those who like the flavor of maple. One of the things I like in particular about this blend is the maple flavor is defiantly up front, but it's not overpowering or soupy. This blend is worth a try

The nutty, earthy, woody, sweet burley takes the lead over the grassy, citrusy Virginia. The maple has a little richness and is more obvious than the rum, which, as in most r&m blends I have smoked, is typical. The toppings sublimate the tobaccos almost to a medium extent though they don’t drown them out. The aspects you’ll notice the most are nuts, woody, and a little grass. The strength is in the center of mild to medium, while the taste is a step past that mark. The nic-hit is fairly mild. Won’t bite or get harsh. The tobacco is a little moist, but not enough to goop a pipe, though some may prefer a light dry time. Burns cool and clean at a slightly slow pace with a very consistent, rather smooth flavor from top to bottom. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a very pleasant, lightly lingering after taste and room note. An all day smoke. Three and a half stars.

I really liked this blend quite a bit honestly. And im mainly an english smoker. Most aromatics give me horrible tounge bite. But i figured ill give this a shot.
I purchased this when it was dirt cheap on pipesandcigars. I figured i needed a good aromatic in my rotation instead of my CB White. And i wanted a good seasonal blend for fall and winter, when theres a gathering at my place
Rum and maple?? You have my attention!
Opening the tin, you are greated with everything it is discribed as. RUM AND MAPLE! and its not in any way over powering. Beautiful golden strands, that arent sticky. Kinda has that fake maple syrup aroma. But isnt horrible. But what do you expect in a "flavored" ANYTHING! I only use the real stuff on my pancakes and waffles. But this isnt throat grabbing either.
Lighting is a breeze.
The aroma is very mapley. And the rum adds a sweetness to it to where it becomes almost a maple carmel aroma. I never can taste rum in blends. I think it adds a sweetness to the aroma.
Flavor actually lasts the entire bowl. Unlike most aromatics where you get a flavor punch while lighting the bowl, then a burnt tobacco flavore the rest of the bowl. Tastes like maple! Go figure right? Every here and there you get a burnt sugar taste. Not a tiny bit of bite either. Sometimes i can puff a little hard, but with this one, you just get a bad burnt tobacco taste. But delicate sips give you an awesome flavorful smoke.
Room note is killer. And smoked outside on a COLD night just enhances the aroma. Ill be buying more once my tin is gone. One of the better aromatics in my opinion.

This is an easy smoking blend. If you like aromatics you will love this tobacco. The flavorings are lightly infused and aren't overpowering. Very relaxing and highly enjoyable. And it is sold at a very resonable price.

After 4 years of trial and error Im finally nailing down a favorite aromatic. Its going to be a maple and it may end up being Shermans March. It is perfection in handling, stays lit, not too goopy/heavily cased, has a great room note, has some nicotine, and is just a great all around smoke. The only down side is a minor amount of tongue bite that I get. I have been smoking this almost exclusively for a couple of weeks which I have never done with another tobacco.

To me, it seems kinda like a cigarette tobacco with some odd flavors. I don't want to knock it cause it's a vg value but it just wasn't right for me. I love maple syrup, REAL maple syrup, Dark Grade B. But I can't stand Mrs. Butterworth or Aunt Jemima, synthesized maple flavoring. Every once in a while, I get a whiff of that and that's the end of that...

I tried two pouches of this blend. The first was absolutely awful. Flavorless and just bad. The second was only slightly better. I found this to burn evenly, getting less biting towards the end. It smokes a little wet in some pipes. The flavor is really nondescript and vague. I can’t give this only a single star because in the end, you can survive with it. But I will not buy this again.

This is a very decent aromatic that actually tastes like it smells. The dominant flavor is maple with the rum in the background. Flavor is consistent throughout the bowl and never faded like some aromatics tend to do. The tobacco wasn't goopy and was easy to pack and light. Easily an all day smoke.

Nice, Maple topped tobacco. Lightly topped as well. If you’re expecting an over the top, powerful aromatic, this is not it. The taste and topping in general is very light. To me, the tobacco does come through. A very subtle smoke, burns well. Has not bit me yet. Does leave a nice, pleasant maple ghosting in the pipe. Nothing awful. But a very nice leftover touch for a dedicated pipe. I’m excited to sell her this for a good while to see how well it goes. I definitely prefer this over Cornell and Diehl’s autumn evening, which is why I purchased it. I wanted to compare it and Sherman‘s march won the match.

Good tasty aromatic. Good maple flavor. No bite. Flavor lasts entire bowl. I like it better than Autumn Evening . Smells great. Great with coffee in the morning.
