This is a surprisingly sweet smoke for a virginia/perique. More than that, it's not the standard sugary sweetness of virginia leaf, it's a plum flavored sweetness to my tastebuds. Listed this as having an extremely mild flavoring, but in all honesty that's just because I can't see where else this level of sweet would come from. I've noticed the same flavor in lesser proportions in the Ash & Ember Athena blend as well. The perique is in excellent proportion to the Virginia, this is not a spicy blend. Personally I prefer a bit more spice. Absolutely worth trying for any va/per lover because it occupies a lonely space on the spectrum, but better for those with a sweet tooth.
