The Virginias offer tangy, ripe dark fruit, earth, a little grass/hay and citrus along with a touch of spice, smoke and wood, and a few drops of honey. The deeply rich caramel topping sublimates the Virginias while allowing their inherent aspects to be noticeable to the smoker. The strength level is a step past mild to medium. The nic-hit is just past being mild. No chance of bite or harshness. Burns cool, clean and a little slow with a creamy sweet, consistent flavor from start to finish. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires some relights. The very pleasant after taste lingers a little. Can be an all day smoke.

CupO'Joes #5 Bigfoot Flake is a real treat. It comes in a 1.75 Oz/ 50 G tin, that looks like a golden hockey puck. Within is a folded one inch by three inch slice of pressed Virgina . To smoke the tobacco you have to carefully rip the tobacco and then "rub" it in your hands. As you "rub" the tobacco the wonderful smell of caramel will fill the area. I was enthralled as I lit the tobacco in a EA Carey, it burned well and to the "bottom of the bowl" without bite. The woman said it was delightful to smell. The taste was mellow and rich with caramel notes, a wonderful after dinner blend.

Cup O' Joes - #5 Bigfoot Flake.

I traded this with Gentleman Zombie, along with a few others.

Fairly dark Virginia flakes, with lighter flecks here and there. The pouch (Franck sent me a decent sized sample in a zip-lock pouch) has an easily recognizable caramel aroma to it. I usually rub my flakes fully and these do so easily, forming medium ribbons with quite a light touch.

The smoke: I'm not sure whether to mark mild to medium or medium for the added flavour; it has enough of a caramel note to be easily identified, but in retrospect it's not enough for it to qualify as being fully medium. The best way to enjoy Bigfoot is by regularly using the retro-hale technique, this brings out the absolute best in it. There isn't much to say regarding the flavour from the Virginia, as it's a fairly simple one. The burn from Bigfoot's great, but as mine was loosely pouched it may differ from a sealed tin, that could be soaking wet? Note: mine was still moist enough, and having been in the pouch for at least a month I suspect a fresh tin may be quite damp.

The nicotine's nice: mild, and the room-note's good, too.

One of the best blends Franck has sent me, cheers pal!

Highly recommended.

Man, this is good stuff. The caramel hits you pretty hard on lighting and then settles down to mild allowing a good bit of Virginia goodness to come through. Stays that way to the finish. The flavoring here doesn't burn off and lasts through the entire bowl. My tin came at a perfect moisture level for immediate smoking. I didn't find it to be complex, but it is delicious. There is a nice sweetness. Not too sweet; I found it to be just right. Smokes the same in cob or briar.

Mild to medium in body. Flavoring starts medium and settles to mild. Taste is medium. Burns very well.

I agree with the previous Reviewer - this tobacco is a Super Treat. Delicious creamy smoke, hint of caramel, not overly sweet, burns easily. I mean really what more could you ask for? This is a solid flake that anyone who loves VA Flake tobaccos ought to try. Delicious!!!
