This is considered one of McCranies most popular and best selling sweet blends, better than sweet savannah??? I didn't think so, mild flavor, slight bite, terrible after taste. gave some to a friend, told him if he liked it, he could have the rest. burned great in the pipe though.

Nice mildly sweet, and a very nice smoke. Has nice strands of virginia and blackend-cavendish flakes, and the scent of the unburnt 'baccy is very nice. This is a great tobacco for new smokers as well as those who might like to smoke in the house or around company. Chars nicely and burns down without too much moisture. I have smoked it a bit and don't get any bite to speak of. Cleans out of the pipe well when done.

There are others that have the same features of this blend, but if you are in McCranie's and want a good sure bet to buy, pick up 2 ounces of this and you will have a good couple of weeks.

This must be McCranie's designated starter tobacco. They suggested a couple of ounces to me when I began smoking more seriously a few years ago.

This probably won't be the most memorable tobacco you'll ever smoke, but you could do a lot worse. In fact, I can think of anything bad to say about it at all.

Being new to pipe smoking, I walked into McCranie's and asked for a recommendation for a new pipe smoker. I found this to be quite tasty and mild, definitely no tongue bite or anything close to it. It left an entire gathering of people commenting on how nice it smelled.

My good friends, Todd & Trent McCranie, are not only experts when it comes to pipes, they are expert blenders as well. In fact, these two fellows don't receive the credit they deserve for their talents at the blending bar.

Quail Run will really please the aromatic fans and their spouses or girl/boyfriends. The aroma in the pouch is heavenly, and only gets better at the match.

I could (and did) smoke a bunch of this stuff over the course of a weekend when I was in the mood for multiple bowls of sweetness. Just light enough so as not to overwhelm the true tobacco taste of the virginias (and perhaps some burley?). I will not get another pouch simply because I like stronger stuff, but will give this one an A-plus because it is one of the best of its breed I've had the pleasure of smoking!
