McClelland No. 815 Strawberry Daiquiri
(3.00)
Here is a cool, refreshing aromatic tobacco with the fragrance and flavor of fresh strawberries lightly laced with rum and a hint of citrus. Light-bodied, refined, sweet without being cloying, this mixture of lemon and orange Virginias and premium black cavendish makes a delightful smoke.

McClelland - No. 815 Strawberry Daiquiri.
I just posted a review on Gawith Hoggarth Dark Plug from smoking it earlier today. Putting it politely I wasn't a fan, so had some imminent bowls of this in the hope of removing the damn aftertaste! To me this falls under the caption of 'fun tobacco'. It doesn't require a seasoned palate, or immunity to nicotine, it's a light hearted smoke. Not that you would, but if you wanted a tobacco for children this would be it: the smoke's exceedingly immature!
The ribbons are fine in build, emanating an aroma reminiscent of a fruity cocktail. The moisture's decent.
The smoke? It's a 'good laugh'! There's a smaller amount of sticky black Cavendish compared to sprightly Virginia, and those account for the 'serious' side. The fun comes from the toppings. Although it contains rum the general flavour reminds me of the bags of mixed sweets I'd buy from the shop on route to school aged about ten! Lots of sugary/false strawberries. Don't expect a flavour anywhere near to a natural strawberry, this is as fraudulent as can be! The burn from 815's good, the aftertaste is sweet, and it doesn't bite.
Nicotine: mild. Room-note: pleasant.
This did a four star job of ridding my palate of Dark Plug, but realistically it's a three star aromatic:
Recommended.

Smell in bag is a lot more intense strawberry, the smoking flavor is very mild, but noticeable, although nothing like a daiquiri. Room notes are pleasant. Burns well, no bite.

This blend is awesome! I have tried several different brands and blends and this is my January to August blend. From August to december I switch to McCllelands walnut liqueur.
The strawberry taste isnt in the inhale, but can taste it on the exhale. Its also very present in the room not and mustache note!
I keep a pound of it around.
