There's just a little Virginia grassiness in the blend. The black cavendish has the vanilla flavor you expect, though I really notice the toppings much more. The dark chocolate is a little syrupy, and the mocha coffee had a strange flavor that also affects the after taste. Has little nicotine. Won't bite. Even with dry time, it burns wet and leaves a lot of moisture, and a little dottle. Needs some relights, and burns a little slow. There are too many drawbacks here to recommend it for any reason.

Go this as a free sample, and it has found a home in the rotation somewhat. As others have said it is a goopy mess and does not dry out well at all. The key to this is the roomnote. This will be added for the occasions that Non smokers are around and I do not want to offend with a pungent odor. Roomnote will tame even the most savage Anti.

Listen, if you bought Mocha, thats what you'll get. The name, the pouch aroma, the room note, and the taste, are all the same. Mocha! If you like Mocha, you will like this. If you don't, you won't. I like it, but not necessarily for every day or all day. It is sweet, but not as sweet as so many vanilla blends I have tried. It burns well, and if you smoke properly it should not bite. While I like the mocha taste (thats why I tried this) I recognize this is not a real premium smoke. There are those who would argue that no aromatic is a premium smoke. For the aromatic smoker there should me room for this blend in the mix. The very end of the bowl was a little stale in that it seemed to loose its flavor and mildness. This really should not be a problem unless you are breaking in a new pipe and need to smoke it down to the bitter end. Just enjoy this for what it is: A sweet, tasty, aromatic that won't bite your tongue off.

I do love a strong cup of coffee in the mornings. I also enjoy a strong bowl of tobacco in the mornings. After smoking a bowl of this concoction I have determined that I will never pour coffee in my pipe and I will not brew tobacco in my coffee pot.

McClelland's attempt here was admirable, but once I finished the load, the bottom of the bowl of my nice briar looked like coffee coconut sludge. Not a pretty sight. Hmmm, I think I've just described this tobacco's taste too.

Many years ago, a friend of mine offered me a sample of Vauen Espressotabak, and I enjoyed it very much and bought some for myself. I wanted to try another coffee flavored blend to see how it would compare, so I picked up a few ounces of this. The aroma in the bag is pleasant, and was what one would expect given the name of the blend. It's a bit moist, but I had difficulty drying it out. I guess this is one of those blends that just retains moisture. It will smoke a bit wet in a briar, so I like smoking it in a cob, as it seems to absorb the excess moisture. It lights and smokes well and should satisfy anyone looking for a coffee flavored aro. No tongue bite, which is surprising given the level of moisture. Non aro smokers should probably steer clear as it's stereotypically goopy. Not a bad smoke if smoked in a cob or filtered pipe to keep it dry, but with blends like Espressotabak on the market, I don't think I'll be buying this again unless I can't afford better tobacco.

I like a good aromatic as much as the next smoker but this is like the Coors light of pipe tobacco. Smells good when opening the bag. Smokes well! But I can't taste a darn thing. This is the weakest tobacco I've ever had as far as aroma and taste. I bought 8 ounces si guess I'm going to have to find something to mix it with to make it more distinct

P. S. I crammed all 8 ounces into a pint jar and put it in my closet. 1 year later the blend has aged very well and has the deepest chocolate flavor I've ever had. It's like hot chocolate in a tobacco form. I love it and I'm probably going to buy another 8 ounces to age for a year again.

Unlike some of the other reviews, I like this blend - in moderation. It's a smooth smoking blend and the mocha flavouring is rich. If you like the taste and small of chocolate, it's an easy blend to smoke and has a pleasant room note. Seems to taste best as an early morning smoke. It burns hot and can have a bite, so slow and steady to really enjoy it.

Tastey little Aro...However, may be a bit too tastey...Mocha flavoring, which I like, tends to overwhelm the Virginias...Needs to be toned down and evened out...Maybe needs a bit more Cavendish and/or Stoved Virginia.
