Toasted Cavendish once again forms the mellowing flavor of this blend, but now a blend of Burley add a robust zing and a hint of cherry, just the right amount of sweetness.

I get a very mild brown sugar from the black cavendish. The nuttiness from the burley is not very noticeable. The cherry flavor is okay, but not deep, and I got a sour note or two, plus a little syrup near the finish, which affects the after taste. The vanilla is a background player. Barely has any nicotine. Won't bite unless you puff real hard. Has a mostly consistent flavor. Burns fairly well, but will leave some moisture in the pipe, but no dottle. Still, you'll have to wipe your bowl clean when you are done. Needs a few relights. An all day work and play smoke.

My local pipe shop used to carry TK-6 but called it Very Cherry. The smell in the big glass container in the shop was wonderful. I took a couple of ounces home with me to try as an after dinner dessert. It was very pleasant and reminder me of Middleton's Cherry Blend but was much more elegant with the Virginia component and the topping was much stronger. Not a rich cherry taste, but more pronounced that I thought it would be by smelling the tobacco before lighting. No bite either.

At the West Coast Show two years ago I gave the Very Cherry a go and thoroughly enjoyed it. So, after a while of enjoying that I decided to give TK-6 a go and see if it's as good a cherry blend.
I have to say I really like TK-6. There's something about the different leaf that puts it over Very Cherry. To me it's the same cherry flavoring, but the leaf combo difference makes TK-6 stand above VC.
It comes about the same moisture level as VC and takes a light just the same. Burns nice and smooth and doesn't bite if you take your time with it. Leaves a pleasant room note.
Overall just a solid cherry blend. If you're looking for that elusive cherry tobacco or just an aromatic for a change of pace give it a try.
P.S.- Like all cherry blends it will ghost so use a pipe dedicated to cherry blends or a cob that you don't mind ghosting.

Just finished my 1st bowl of TK-6 and I really liked it. Not goopy at all, smoked great right out of the bag I received it in. Smoked the full bowl with only 1 relight and the taste and room note was great.

The best cherry blend. I have tried most of them. Non-goopy, burns longer than most, tastes like tobacco, smells even better. As usual, don't puff too hard. Three and a half stars as an Aromatic, two stars in my rotation.

Lane Limited - TK-6.
This looks quite appealing: the black cavendish is in mid-sized ribbons, but there's a few coarse pieces of Burley in there, some of which are twigs; tut, tut! I can't complain about my moisture, the blend could be smoked from the fresh pouch.
I'm with the portion of the reviewers who find the added flavouring stronger, I believe I'm the first as of yet to mark medium to strong? Although it's stronger to me, the added flavour isn't sticky, or too sweet. It doesn't totally monopolize the smoke. With the tobaccos' I get a much higher quantity of black Cavendish, and Cavendish, than I do Burley: it has the archetypal aromatic tobacco taste. I get no tongue bite, it burns well, and the smoke from TK-6 couldn't be any cooler.
The room-note's nice, and the nicotine's mild.
Tk-6? It's good, but boring; one of many of its kind.
Somewhat recommended.

I smoke Lane Limited's 1-Q as my daily tobacco, and have no desire to change that. However, I was in the market for a tobacco I could go to whenever I wanted something different without leaving the realm of aromatics. This website got me interested, so I stopped by my B&M and picked up an ounce to try (they call it Take Six). I couldn't be happier! It's not going to replace 1-Q, but the burley makes it just different enough to be a nice substitute. Easy to pack, light and smoke, and the room note is very nice. I don't get the cherry, but there is certainly some kind of fruit in the pouch note. Doesn't bite at all. Give it a try!

I guess my batch was made by Arango Pipes and Cigars which is now owned by Cigars International... Not sure how this measures up to the original TK-6 but I enjoy this blend. I've tried several cherry blends and to no avail, this is the first one to get it right. you do get the flavor in the smoke, which in my mind is the true test of a good aromatic.

A never ending search for a good cherry aromatic led me to this blend.
If there is any cherry flavouring to it...I'm just not picking it up. I'd be hard pressed to even say it had any cherry flavour.
However,
This blend is non offensive on all fronts. I would highly recommend it as a new smokers first step. Very dry smoking, gentle, pleasant aroma, absolutely no bite. You can't go wrong with this one as a newbie. It's a lamb of an aromatic.
Longtime pipers may find this a good 'light' smoke for those times of the day when heavier blends have taken their toll.
For cherry lovers and Lanes fans, go with Very Cherry for a substantially more pronounced flavour and very similar smoking qualities.

This is the best cherry blend I have tried. I mixed it with about 1/3 granulated 5 brothers to give it some nic. The blend has just the right amount of topping. It does not taste like cherry medicine or anything like that. It addition, the topping is light enough to get some real tobacco flavor.

Smoking now:
Pouch note smells like a cherry liquor.
Moisture seems ok for an aromatic, let it sit for a few minutes, it packed and lit fine.
I’m happy with the consistent flavor from this. It’s a mild burley coco and cherry flavor. Compared to Lane’s Very Cherry which was a “zesty” cherry flavor and bit me, this is more of that old school burley cavendish blend taste with nice and mild dark cherry notes throughout. No bite. Enough cherry flavor to let you know it’s a cherry blend and enough tobacco flavor to satisfy. Not as sweet as other aromatics which is nice. Decent subtle cherry flavor. Will leave moisture in the bowl.
If I wanted a cherry bulk blend I would reach for this again. If you want a cherry blend I would recommend giving it a try.

Of all of the cherry blends out there - this is one. There is nothing unique about this tobacco. The cherry flavor was minimal, perhaps a little vanilla was hiding in there. The room note was enjoyable, as with most cherry blends. Easily lit and burned well but it began to sour about half way. I would recommend Lane's Dark Red as it is light years ahead on this blend

I got this tobacco by accident. I ordered 2 oz. of LL-7 and I received TK-6 instead and boy am I glad. I love this tobacco. It's mild with no bite but it has a very pleasant taste. I recently went to a party and I was smoking a pipefull outside when a very lovely young lady told me that she loved the aroma and stayed outside with me until her boyfriend called her in. Obviously it has a great room note. TK-6 is now my go to tobacco. I recommend this tobacco to anyone looking for a mild when relaxing or working on a project.

I have been smoking aromatics now for 3 1/2 years and this is by far the most consistent overall best. It is not too complex and the slight cherry flavor is nice & mild. It burns very well and the room note is by far one of the most liked by my family who doesn't seem to approve any tobacco produced odor what so ever . Overall I like this better than the over the top freak aromatics like Molto Doce or Berry Nice although they are very good as well. Again that's my opinion and I do purchase a lot of Lane Limited and Peter Stokkebye bulks so I'm really comparing this to blends like Very Cherry or Cherry Bon Bon but I highly recommend this to everyone wanting to try a new aro.

Room note is very pleasant, and I've had really nice comments about it from as far as 30 feet away. If you like ARO that isn't goopy, and is just straight forward, give this a try.

This is my "go to" tobacco. I have been smoking TK6 for years and it is the best cherry blend on the market today. It has a great room note and no complaints from the wife.
The tobacco is a great all day blend and for the most part I do smoke it all day. Morning with coffee and evening with coffee are my favorite times.
The tobacco has a great tobacco flavor with the cherry checking in when you least expect it. Not overpowering just present. Not goopy as a lot of other cherry blends and smokes all the way to the bottom with great taste. It reminds me of a light cherry smash with coke.
If you are looking for a great all day blend with a pleasant room note for others this is your blend. I buy it by the pound and always have it around.

It's been along time since I smoked anything that tasted of cherry-- and liked it. Until I tried TK-6, that is.
This is a terrific contrast to the usual sweet, vanilla or honey aromatic. The tobacco is a dry, natural black cavendish with just a little tartness and cherry flavoring. Very mild to smoke yet very pleasant and refreshing. Perfect at the end of the day if your tongue complains of one too many bowls of stronger fare.

Of the three Land bulk blends I recently ordered, this one showed the most promise. Unlike the other two, with their lifeless fish flakes, TK6 offered a nice blend of chunky bits in medley of blonde and brunette stars. The bag aroma was certainly the "drink your medicine" cherry I was not thrilled about however.
The moisture seemed good, so I grabbed a standby pipe ready to face any oncoming ghosts ready to haunt (it is cherry after all). The lit product had a definite cherry flavor that wasn't as artificial as the initial whiff. It was fairly mild, so it 'could' be an all day smoke if you can stomach eating dessert all day.
Probably not the kind of Aromatic I would puff straight, but will likely mix it with others... you know, make some more Hobbit's Weed. If you want a deeper cherry experience, I'd suggest G&H's Cherry Vanilla, but if you prefer a simple to the point one, TK6 might be a 3 star for you.

So that's it. The last Lane bulk blend from a sampler. Hint of cherry is right. But only for the first 2-3 smokes. Then the hint turns into an afterthought. Almost completely flavorless after a few days. I wish I could go easy on this and list some positives, but it simply is not worth the time. Don't buy this.

When I heard that Lane had discontinued TK6 I searched the Internet to see if any was still available. Found it at pipesandcigars.com and ordered a hefty stock. TK6 is like an old friend, the tobacco by which I judge others.
Hopefully Lane Limited will reconsider and continue blending TK6. In the meantime I'd suggest you stock up now while it's still available. I wonder if pipe tobacco freezes well......

Speaking of fragrant weed, from the vast selection of Lane Limited’s tobacco comes a chipper ensemble of mixed Cavendish and Burleys designed to enthrall you with a “fruit-licious” dance that will leave you pretty pleased with a cherry on top. Presenting TK-6 an aromatic concoction thoughtfully cultured by a splurging of smooth good-natured cherry and decorative sugary vanilla.
A thick billowing pile of mixed varietals consisting of coarse-cut and ribbon strains forms the dense body of the mixture. The tobacco themselves are meaty and twisted in configuration. Generally, an amassed blackness from the Cavendish occupies the dominance of primary shading. Trifling highlights are meagerly imposed by a variable collection of lucid red-golden, earth tones, and obscure marbled browns. As the moisture level is ideal, I found that the packing of the pipe and ensuing burn were quite accommodating
As I extended my inquisitive schnoz over the looming baggie of darkly encumbered tobaccos, I was expecting to be shuddered by the shock of overzealous fruity bravado. Happily, I must profess that I was pleasantly surprised by a true politeness of qualifying air that kindly encircled my senses. In specific a softer fragrance of polished and relaxed cherry circulates forward with some enlivened fruitiness, supported by a cheery garnish of flowing vanilla. There is a dash of eager natural Burley spice and a buried tarty earthiness the fills out a darker element of the pouch nose registration.
I would offer that the cherry flavoring, proper, comes across with the intensity that one would possibly find within a nice baked cobbler, if you know what I mean. Namely TK-6 offers a distinctive fruity sweetness with a finishing resonance of softer tart, yet it is characteristically “medium-relaxed” and agreeable in persona. There is a contenting gentle vanilla adding some creamy influence as well. When that element combines with the mellower cherry feature, the resulting promotion is almost a cordial-like in essence, very pleasing at that. This featured top-coated attraction holds consistent for the lion’s share of the bowl only slightly diminishing during the final third.
With the native components, one encounters a low-lying baked sugary nuttiness from the Burley on the bottom. Surprisingly the strain cleanly introduces some darker contained zest that provides a nice offset to the obliging sweetness of the taste band. Furthermore, I did record a strong note of smoky earthiness and passive sourness from the balance of cavendished constituents.
Given the recipe, there is really not much of the disturbance caused by nicotine on this one. The dense grey plumes produced with its smoking are fairly substantial. A room impression characterized by a smoky zest as the mainstream feature. Both the earthiness of the Cavendish and a sour touch of the Burley combine to form this dominant essence. Riding lightly on top this heavy note is an easy highlighting of fruity/tart cherry and sugary cream. The magnitude is rather courteous as the aroma faintly dissipates on the short. Finally, overall TK-6 brings a smooth enjoyable texture that complements its principal virtues.
Let’s me profess that even if you vehemently detest cherry flavored aromatics, which I myself did for most of latter part of my pipe smoking career, TK-6 might be one you may want to try. I know you’re out there because I ran leagues with the same pack as you. For myself it was a stretch to even entertain re-engaging a cherry tobacco. Again, this is coming guy who was an original cherry pipe-smoking “newbie fiend” many, many, many moons ago. Honestly, it is like no other cherry comparable that I have yet to smoke with respect to quality and charm.
What is more, with the exception of a couple of other select blends, I must admit that I not a huge enthusiast of Lane Limited’s products. However, this mixture is rather accomplished and commendable with respect to an aromatic blending, I can say that without reserve. Admittedly, I liked it. With this particular sampling, I am painfully reminded not to be so close-minded and snobbish with all my seemingly righteous pipe smoking acumen. Ha what humbler this trial turned out to be, so get over yourself Jim and fess up to fallacy of your self-imposed ignorance. Guilty as charged. 3.0 Pipes folks.

Nice cherry blend. Fruity enough to enjoy (very clearly cherry), without being completely ridiculous. I really don't get any nuances past that. That's what I wanted. In the same vein as other cherry blends you may have had, (S.Pride, S.value, Middleton, etc.) A really nice smoke in a small 15min briar on the way home from work. Puts work behind you, and a pleasant feeling in your soul. Nuff said.

I got TK-6 as part of a sampler pack I ordered from Lil' Brown several years ago. It came in a thin baggie and I tossed it in a large Tupperware container I use for samples. In subsequent years I would occasionally pull it out and smoke a bowl while marveling at how much moisture it had retained.
The big problems I find with this tobacco is that it is hard to light and keep lit and there just isn't enough cherry flavor to suit me, even when it was new. I love all types of blends if they are good ones and, unfortunately, this isn't one of them. I want my aros to taste like aros, my burley to taste like burley, and my English blends like English.
It does have a good price if you can still find it.

In loving memory of TK-6, gone but not forgotten.
Still listed at pipes and cigars as of 4/13/2010, gone everywhere else. Nice tasting primarily black cavendish blend with a mild cherry flavoring. I dried it out for a few days prior to smoking it and used a cob because it will ghost a brier. I found it better than Middletons cherry blend but will not buy it again.

The truth is that I have never been a big fan of aromatic tobaccos. TK-6 is one of two exceptions, the other being Hartwell?s ?Evening Stroll?.
Lawdog put me onto this tobacco a couple of years ago and while I don?t smoke it often (maybe once a week) I always have some in the larder. The only time this tobacco has caused me any grief was on the initial light and that trouble was of my own making. I tend to draw a bit hard and fast on the first light. You would think I had learned something after 30 odd years with a pipe.
TK-6 is not for cherry flavor fanatics. This tobacco just does not work that way. It smells of cherry in the jar but while smoking, the cherry only comes through occasionally as a subtle reminder. To my way of thinking that?s just what a flavoring is supposed to do for tobacco. I like this later in the evening with a cup of tea.
BTW, since I started this with the statement that I am not an aromatic tobacco fan I should say that my rating of TK-6 is compared to other aromatic tobaccos I have tried.

TK-6 is my all-time favorite aromatic. It lights easily, burns very nicely all the way to the bottom of the bowl with no wet dottle, and always smokes cool. The room note is great, and reminds me of roasting marshmallows. You can actually taste some tobacco underneath the flavoring, and it is not like any other cherry blend I've smoked.
