Gauntleys-Private Blend No.8. Quite unique!
The whole journey is more of a mellow deal when compared the usual affair found with heady Balkans.
The beginning note from the pouch is a good suggestion of what's about to follow. It's Balkan type aroma, but lighter than the norm'.
We have a good water content so it can be smoked right away.
My first impression lasts for the duration, a thought of 'great entry Balkan'. It would be the perfect blend to smoke if you want to try Balkans for the first time.
All the usual nuances are present but much lighter. Right from a smokiness in a subtle fashion and a delicate sour touch brought by the Orientals.
I get a little extra nuttiness compared to the usual Latakia containing blends. Quite a suprising addition.
Of all the tobaccos I get the least flavour from the Virginia. It's not completely absent but it's very light in comparison.
The nicotine is just below medium. It's not too light but towards the lower end of the spectrum.
This is a good smoke. For me though, I prefer some more smokiness from my Latakia blends!
