This blend is a full flavor, medium strength English blend infused with cognac. An English mixture with a pleasant room aroma. A truly unique blend of subtly sweet flavor. The high content of essential oils makes them soft and makes for a slow, cool burn. The high proportion of latakia is not obvious, as was dispensed very black sheet material. This mixture is ideal for medium size pipes.

Described in Dan Tobacco's catalogue as just about the strongest blend offered from their Torben Dansk range, of course I had to try it. The blend is a mix of ribbons, very much the quintessential English-style mess of leaves. The tin note is highly alcoholic, and while being rather smoky, does betray the brandy added. So, easy to stuff and light. The taste is sweet, in part due to the African VAs, in part because of the brandy; whether it acually is a true Cognac I cannot judge, but it's nice. So... in the end, this is a beautiful English blend with a nice addition of a Brandy; it's smoky, sweet, burns down to just about nothing, and fits right in with what I expect from an evening blend. Uncomplicated, savoury-sweet blend, good burning qualities, good price. Three-and-a-half out of four. Seriously recommended.

Midnight special is my favorite blend by Torben Danske so far. This is an english blend, make no mistake. Latakia can be felt, juuuust in the right amount. Sweetness is also there, thanks to the subtle use of fine cavendish. The label says it has cognac, but I could not smell it on the tin.

This blend is heavy smoke, not becuase of the nicotine, but for the use of english/orientals. It is very tasty, improving during the smoke, a very complex mixture indeed. Ash is remarkably white.

The only downside of this tobacco is that it is so hard to find. If you can get your hands in a tin, please indulge yourself and try it.

This could be the perfekt smoke to me! But why has that tobaccojewel no nicotine??? It has a wonderful taste of sweet virginias, silky woody latakia and a little sour orients and on top , one of the best casings, I had the pleasure to smoke! A cognacflavor that comes through from the first to the last puff, and get never artificial. But it is too airy. So I have to mix it with one third IRISH OAK and I have a very satisfying smoke. Its a pitty that almost all tobaccos with a flavour are much to weak. It is nonetheless a really good english tobcco with a cognacscent

Update: Had another tin and it was totally different!! It seems to be DTM varies in their blends a lot. In the current tin is no trace of that really good cognac flavour. What remains is a very ordinary english blend with nothing that hold my interrest.
