4noggins Killington

(2.80)
A blend of Golden Cavendish tobaccos with a touch of Burley. Nice golden and black ribbon with a nutty berry flavor. If you are an aromatic lover, you've got to give this one a try.

I've sampled about 30 tobaccos this year and this one was the biggest, most pleasant surprise. It came as part of an aromatic sampler I ordered and I put off smoking it as it was the other tobaccos I was interested in. When I finally did give it a try, it really hit the spot with its unique blend of berry and caramel. Usually you can get a tobacco with a berry taste or a caramel taste, but this was the first one I've ever had that combined them both. I wouldn't have thought they'd go together but they do and I've enjoyed it in a number of different pipes and it never disappoints.

Very Mild tabacco. Could be smoked the whole day without a problem. My problem with it is the PG. But besides that, I like the fact you can actually taste the tobacco! Very sweet virginia cavendish. The Burley is there playing its part, the nuttiness is there, very clearly. I can barely taste the actual aroma, blackberry, PG is a bit too much and it covers this aroma. But the cavendish always apear again and surprises you. It's an ok blend. Not to good, but not too bad either. Mainly if your cup of tea is an tobacco tasting aromatic. Shame for the PG though.

4noggins - Killington.

I'm unsure as to why the description says 'a blend of golden Cavendish', at least a third of the ribbons are jet black. I've updated the picture here. The aroma makes it easy to identify the blackberry topping, and the hydration's good.

The smoke: the berries are unequivocal in the flavour, but there's a touch of vanilla from the black Cavendish too. The berry addition gains weight throughout a bowl, starting out milder but developing more of a sharpness, and a slight bitterness. The Burley tastes high quality, it's extremely nutty. One of the faults with this is the burn: quite warm. Another issue's tongue bite.

Nicotine: mild. Room-note: pleasant.

Killington? Not one for me. Somewhat recommended:

Two stars.

This Blend is very Mild, low flavour, taste and Nicotine,

Claimed to have Nutty Berry flavour, really it haves somewhat as Caramel and Vanilla flavour, but only in the pouch, in the tobacco itself...

Even claimed to have Burley and Cavendish, these tobaccos cannot be noted! Seems Virginia pure...

Sweet (Virginia sweetness) but almost flavourless and tasteless.

The fact that is extremely mild, isGood for make mixtures, or for reduce strong tobaccos as also as "aromatic" alternative for people that not enjoy aromatics.

I hope to make a difference here by offering a much more positive assessment and review of Killington. I like a range of tobaccos from English to not-too-sweet aromatics, and Killington is such a pleasant surprise! It is my current favorite, and I intend to keep it around. Killington is very smooth with no bite, has a scrumptious flavor with a pleasant room note, stays well-lit from first light to bottom of the bowl, and has no ash taste or bad flavors even though I am an aggressive puffer. So, it is perfect as an all day smoke if you like or simply any time of day. As I said, Killington is a favorite - certainly a top 5 of all time for me. Many thanks to Jeff Tomei the new owner at 4Noggins from whom I've had some really excellent blends.
