E. A. Carey Black Raspberry

(3.00)
One of our top selling blends. The fragrance of black raspberry blended with light pressed burley tobaccos. The pronounced flavor of sweet vanilla lends an air of distinction to this mild, tasteful blend. Cavendish and loose cut. 100 percent Danish aromatic blend.

The sugary black cavendish is the lead component in terms of effect. The grassy, tartly citrusy Virginia is not very noticeable. The same is true of the earthy, woody, nutty burley, which peeks out a step more than the Virginia. The rich black raspberry and mild vanilla toppings mostly sublimate the tobaccos. The strength and taste levels are medium because of the potency of the toppings. Barely has any nicotine. Won't bite or get harsh, and has no rough moments. Needs a light dry time. Burns cool, clean and a little slow with a very consistent smoothly sweet flavor that translates to the lightly lingering after taste and room note. Leaves some moisture in the bowl, and requires some relights if you don’t give the blend any dry time. An all day smoke.

A delightful, sweet aromatic blend simple in texture, substance and fragrance. E.A. Carey, which is an underrated house in terms of both quality and price, offered this one as an early summer "special" at very reasonable cost. Just a frugal if not practical choice for some of us in the old line N.E. Yankee states who can't go every time with the bottom floor supermarket blends nor afford too many of the "tin" elites. This burley and cavendish aro mixture doesn't ever seem to overheat; smokes sweet, cool and mild to an enjoyable end.
