Chief Catoonah Tobacconist Joe's Morning Pipe

(3.67)
A medium strength English Mixture with Robust flavor achieved with a fine balance of Virgina, Burley, Turkish and Cyprian Latakia leaf. I blended this in response to Joe's request for something he could enjoy earlier in the day, a bit milder than BBB Mixture which has been his favorite! And his reaction to his new blend, "...is smooth with a nice finish."

This is a very nice and smooth smoke. The blend concept really works here. Take a full English like BBB Mixture and tone it down a bit with some burley. Much easier said than done but Dick has done it just right with this blend. Not just for the morning but for the whole day.

Update: This has become my number one blend that I smoke everyday, I just can't help myself reaching for it. To me it is a perfect balance of all four tobaccos used.

Got some "Joe's Morning Pipe" form Dick at Chief Catoonah's Tobacconist and smoked it this weekend. Good stuff.

As an English blend(whatever that happens to mean currently) it is very mild. Appropriate for a morning smoke as the nam says. I cind that like the previous reviewer it is just as good throughout the day as well. The Latakia is very light and hardly noticeble, the Turkish is as well while the Burley seems to overshadow them both. The Virginia however is very nice and reminds me of other blends from Dick. All the parts of the blend see to work well together and though the Virginia stands out from the Burley they all seem to work well together.

S little heavier hand with the Latakia might be a good idea it seem but then again it might not be as friendly a "morning pipe" as it is.

The flavor is a little on the sweetish style for a true( again, whatever that means) English blend and it is not all that noticeable.

Strength is as already stated mild and pleasant. Room note is a tad over the "pleasant" line but not that much as my "very significant other"-- my dear wife evaluated it's aroma.

So there you go. Nice, sweetish "English type" blend that could serve as a pleasant all day puffcandidate.

Joe's Morning Pipe is a medium strength English Mixture with flavor achieved with a balance of Virgina, Burley, Turkish and Cyprian Latakia leaf. It has become MY new favorite. First sampled last December, I finally decided to "take the plunge" and order 5 oz. of this tobacco. This smoke was blended due to a customer's request for something that could be enjoyed earlier in the day. His reaction to his new blend was, "...is smooth with a nice finish."

It's a full and very robust blend which takes full advantage of the various tobaccos used to comprise it. I swear that by my third consecutive bowl, I got a hint of CHOCOLATE in the taste. I know this was due to the Latakia, but it was reminiscent of the enjoyment I've gotten from blends like Bob's Chocolate Flake.

I smoked this blend ALL day yesterday and found the name is a misnomer. Joe's All Day Pipe would have been far more appropriate. As I smoke through more of Dick's blends, I'm just left shaking my head in amazement and appreciation. While I still enjoy Alan's Inspiration, I enjoy this blend more!
