Without any doubt this is a natural tobacco. No flavoring, this is a national-popular mixture (such as Italia) you can smoke all day long. Simple, neutral, plain and honest. If you like Virginia and Burley with Kentucky, without seasoning, this is a tobacco for you. Not extraordinary, but a good stuff. In my personal rating (from 1 to 10) my score is 7 and two stars.

OK, in terms of strength & body, I think to Allegro as something laying in the middle between Amphora Original Blend and ETI's Comune.

While reviewing OB, I was talking of regular/continental blends, based on the triad VaBKy, with something else (a featuring artist, musically speaking...) be that an Oriental or a Tropical weed. Well, Allegro fully belongs to this family.

A medium strength, quite full bodied shag cut, not as fine in cut as a RYO but very close. Good for medium bowls and over, the smoking technique must be the same reserved to dutch baai's or belgian Semois': steady and peaceful. Some toasted tobacco is in the play, and the inconfondible cigarish wiffs of the Italian Kentucky (I think to vegetable & onion soup, no better way to explain) which are so unpleasant to the wife if the smoke is rushed. The base is earthy/woody and spicy in some way, differently from Comune (and Forte) the Virginia is there and contributes to mild the smoke down a bit, and rounds it giving some sweetness.

Useless to say that Allegro burns very dry and smooth, the pipe remaining cool at slow smoking pace, until the end of the bowl.

The price is unbeatable, the cheapest available in Italy. IMHO the Poschl Company has created this blend to compete in the italian low-priced tobaccos range, i.e. vs. Comune and Forte. Regarding me they can easily live together in peace, having each one its own character.

I bought it in Italy. It's very cheaper, 3.70 euro for 40g. For me this tobacco is very nice. Try it if you can.
