Burley is a difficult tobacco to get right, and while this tobacco tries hard, it doesn't quite get it right.
This is an all golden tobacco blend and has a pleasant Apple-like aroma in the tin. Moisture level is 100% perfect. pack-light-tamp-light and it burns to the bottom.
The This IS a good grade of tobacco, both the Virginias and the Burley are excellent examples of thier genre, perhaps because of the addition of the Calvados, thier qualities are muted. The sweet nuttiness of the Burley and the underlying zest of the Virginias take second chorus to the almost sour sometimes bitter aftertaste of the top flavoring. This does not bite. This does not stink up your pipe. This actually doesn't do much of anything. While I am not impressed, don't be afraid to try this as a beginning excursion into Burley. 10 years ago I probably would have loved this.

I don’t have much to say about this one. It was pleasant, but not inspiring. I had trouble picking up anything in the first half of the smoke. Right about halfway through, I picked up some faint sour apple; but I think it was only because I read that it had apple in it. Otherwise, the best I probably could have done is label is as some sort of fresh fruit. I did pick up a dry hay from the virginia, but it was also subtle. The smoke was not thick, but it was nice. The flavors in this one do not jump out at you. You really have to concentrate to pick up the subtleties.
