A combination of crimp-cut light Burleys mellowed with Perique, bright Virginia, and just a dash of toasted Cavendish - all aged to a natural sweetness. Great for new smokers

The bright Virginia is citrusy sweet with a touch of grass, though it is a minor player. The toasted cavendish offers a honey note and is also a minor player. The perique is very mild and offers a plum note or two with a bare hint of spice. The burleys are molasses sweet with some nuttiness. There is a topping and I wonder if vanilla is in it, because I get a very light sense of its presence. Or perhaps there's a touch of black cavendish in the mix, because I'm not certain the dark pieces are all perique. An all day smoke that burns at a normal rate, fairly cool, but some harshness and tongue tingle may evidence itself if you're a fast puffer. That's a partial indicator that black cavendish may be present. Leaves very little moisture in the bowl, and has a very pleasant after taste.

A very good burley blend, although I like Milan's 101 Burley better.
I'll just steal what one of the other reviewers said: "A natural good burley mixture. No or very little casing added. This blend smokes cool, dry, and has a natural sweet flavor. It burns evenly and doesn't have to be relit often." Yes, I agree.

Aromatics smokers will probably like 401 Burley from the get-go. It is purported to be non-aromatic, but I find it to be a touch carob-like.
401 Burley, a moderately sweet and nutty blend, is at once spicy and floral, with the suggestion of something rather gamey or musty in the nose. I don't find any evolution of taste -- it's a pretty linear smoke, though the floral note fades somewhat. Its gentle sweetness leans toward that of simple sugar and away from the caramel tastes that a good Virginia flake develops, but it's still delightful.
In sum: good smoke volume; fair nicotine hit; packs and lights well; requires occasional re-lights if smoked at an appropriately slow pace; cool, dry and mellow; sweet and flavorful.

A natural good burley mixture. No or very little casing added. This blend smokes cool, dry, and has a natural sweet flavor. It burns evenly and doesn't have to be relit often. This is a good alternative to aromatics and englishes. Good old American tobacco blend! If you like a little more kick ask Renee or Dave at Milan to make a blend of 14oz of 401 and 2oz of straight toasted cavendish. That extra 2oz will boost the strength and nicotine content dramatically. Toasted Cavendish is basically a stoved burley. Much like Latakia is a stoved oriental. So it packs a PUNCH! This is an all day mix that is not tireing, nor does it scorch the palette. While you're at it, try the " Poochie's Blend ". If you like toasted marshmallow, maple syrup, and vanilla, Poochie's Blend will be a treat!
