Well Paul's review is several years old, but I agree with everything he said. I purchased a few ounces of this blend at a local tobacco shop near Seattle because I liked the smell and feel of it. Like Paul said, it wasn't goopy or overly wet. It felt like a good Cavandish should with a pleasant aromatic to go along. I have had several people comment on how great it smelled while sitting in various public parks smoking it. It is truly a crowd pleaser. The taste is excellent. Kind of "vanilla-ish" but there is more lurking behind the scenes. It is like a great glass of Cognac. It smells pleasant, tastes even better and leaves the smoker, as well as passerby's with a smile on their face as if the aroma brought back some fond memory. Yeah, it's that good.

This is a bulk tobacco that my local tobacconist in Pittsburgh carries. Distributed by Lane, so I'm sure it's available elsewhere possibly under a different name.

Consistency: It's a speckled burely/black cavendish blend, ribbon cut, not too moist.

Flavor/Taste: It's an aromatic, but I can't really put my finger on what the casing is. If I had to pick something I'd say it's vanilla-ish, but not completely. The casing is by no means overwhelming, and provides just the right amount of sweetness to not clog up the pores of the pipe. For this reason I smoke it in my meerschaum a lot. The flavor overall is slightly creamy and semi-sweet. Overall I see it as what a good aromatic should taste like.

Room note: It's a crowd stopper. Another one of those tobaccos that will make other people want to smoke a pipe because of the knock out smell of your pipe.

Strength: I'd say this is would be a medium blend FOR AROMATICS. I don't compare it to English or VA's because those are completely different ballparks. When smoked in a fairly decent sized pipe this provides me with a great relaxing buzz.

Burn: This burns very cool, in meerschaum or in briar. It provides great billowing clouds of smoke, which I absolutely love. Being that it's not very wet it burns down completely to ash as well.

Overall comments: At this moment this is probably my favorite tobacco. I see it as my "comfort smoke" because I know that when I go smoke it it will taste, smell, and smoke exactly the way I want my pipe to do. For those times when you need something constant to settle the waters I turn to this and get lost in thought. If you can find it in your tobacconist, get an ounce. It's well worth it.
