The dark fruity, earthy red Virginia and lightly grassy, citrusy gold Virginia are the most obvious components. The nutty, molasses sweet burley also has a minor earth note in support. The sugary black cavendish seems to have a touch of vanilla in the background. The vanilla and mild spice toppings are rich, and take the lead over the light cocoa. The toppings do sublimate the tobaccos to a fair extent. The nic-hit is mild. No chance of bite or harshness. Burns at a moderate pace, cool and clean with a very smooth, consistent flavor from top to bottom. Leaves little moisture in the bowl, and requires an average number of relights. Has a pleasantly sweet and mildly spicy after taste and room note. Can easily be an all day smoke.

Sutliff Tobacco Co. - Vanilla D-40.
It must have been four months since I popped this into my cellar and seeing as it's still rather moist I assume it must have been soaking on the day it arrived! A lot of ribbon cut blends are more delicate in build than this, the ribbons here are quite coarse. The pouch has a definite aromatic aroma.
The golden Cavendish, Burley, and Virginia take responsibility for a higher proportion of the flavour. Those, and the vanilla. The black Cavendish has been added with an extremely cautious hand. Cautious? To the point where my pouch contained absolutely zero black pieces! The topping has been added in a medium quantity, thusly, making it a definite aromatic, but not a ludicrously false one!
Nicotine: mild. Room-note: pleasant.
D-40? Well, my favourite flavour for an aromatic's vanilla, so I enjoy this. Albeit, in a market that's swamped with this kind of aromatic there are better to be had. So, three stars, not four:
Recommended.

Was not thrilled with this blend. I found the pouch note to be chemical, although some of that could have been the copious amount of PG it was covered in. The tobacco did not bite and the room note was pleasant. It did, however, require a fair number of relights. The scent was more like a French vanilla, which I do not like.

Smell is a bit like vanilla baby powder opening the package and was concerning. Despite this, it burned well and slow enough and quite cool which was surprising. Taste was amazingly like vanilla-bean ice cream and in a good way. Probably one of Sutliff's best vanillas. I'd also recommend the Creme Brule and Custard Creme by Sutliff. Quite good.

This tobacco does burn fairly well but tastes too much like a vanilla candle. The only use I can find for it is to add just a bit to dry aromatics.

This one sounds good in theory, but doesn't work in practice. It is just too heavily adulterated with humectant. It stays wet forever...

The only thing use this for is occasionally, I will add a small amount to a mixture.
The flavoring has an odd taste to me. People in the room said it smelled nice, and the vanilla scent was OK. It smokes wet, and will bite if given half a chance.
There are much better vanilla tobaccos out there. I got this on a real deal - I paid $1.99 for a pound of it. I'm not sure I would do it again. Even at that price.

This is one of those blends that everyone will love except for the person smoking it. It isn't "bad", it just isn't anything at all. It simply lacks flavor. I'm not a stickler for "true tobacco flavor" in every blend, but even the vanilla topping doesn't come through to the flavor. It smells divine in the bag and in the room. It is very cool, though it goes out and gurgles from goopy, PG-laden casings.
I kept this for a while to mix with flavorful tobaccos for social occasions. Alas, it sucked the flavor out of them every time.
On the bright side, I keep small baggies of this in my car from time to time, and receive frequent compliments. A 5-gram sample retains its flavor for over 6 months, and never dries out.
For a better Vanilla aromatic, everyone seems to love MacBaren's Vanilla Cream.

Did not care for this blend at all. The pouch note had a chemical smell to me. The tobacco lit easily and required few re-lights. It burned completely down to a fine grey ash. Little moisture was left behind. The room note was acceptable but with a very faint vanilla scent.

Consolidated (CCC) is now Altadis. I got a sample of this with a recent order, and it's flavor was fake-tasting. There are many much better vanillas out there. I'd suggest Stokkebye's PS9 Vanilla Creme.
