Brookfield Aromatic (No. 1)

(2.35)
A pleasantly mild, very aromatic blend of Virginias, burleys and Java tobaccos with a hint of vanilla. An exceptional smoke.
Notes: Due to EU regulations, this is now sold in those countries as "No. 1".

i have seen this pipe tobacco in the tobacconist in our local town but i never bothered to buy it..i dont know why..but today i was in the shop and i thought im buying a pouch of it..and i have had a few bowls of it..and its a little diamond..lovely room note..and smokes nice and easy..no bite..and a nice taste and a pound or so cheaper than many other tobaccos,so im quite pleased with this little gem,i dont mind aromatics or english blends, but i have had enough of clan and mellow virginia to name but 2..plus a few others.so i will be buying this brookfield blend again for sure.

Brookfield - Aromatic.

Well, well, well, this is a turn up for the books! From the name, I'd expected something overly false: floral, perfumey, and acidic. What I got instead was a superb smoke!

The tobacco's very tightly packed inside the pouch, to me it felt like it was in one of those containers they use in the pouches of blends such as St Bruno Flake, or Walnut Flake; there isn't one, it's just been compacted fiercely! The nose from said pouch was the first thing to suggest to me this wasn't going to be an overly floral or perfume-like smoke; of course, I could always have read the description, but I'm a touch lazy LOL! Even though it has been tightly compacted, the tobacco's not too damp once it's been ruffled apart to fill with.

The smoke I get has a crystal clear vanilla note, albeit it's not too sticky. It's about a perfect weight to be enjoyed without ruining things. There's no problem with the temperature of the smoke, even if it's chugged hard it still seems fairly cool and it doesn't bite.... AT ALL. The nicotine feels quite mild to me, but it's a vanilla aromatic so what else would I expect?!

I feel this is a top notch blend:

Highly recommended.

This is a perfect blend for the real beginner. Its available everywhere, cheap as can be and a treat when smoked. It has a very nice sweet, fruity taste to it and exceptionally nice burning properties. It burns without any hassle and no relighting down to the very end and fast too. Which for the beginner is a bliss since to many of them sitting through an entire bowl can simply be too much.

For the experienced smoker its a nice every day smoke that doesn't leave you with much to be wanted. Plus it offers good quality tobacco that actually can be tasted through what light flavoring is present.

It certainly is not a high class fancy or perfectly balanced smoke and it never tried to be one. All it tries do be is to offer a solid smoke for little money and that it manages with grace.

Tongue bite will not occure and the room note is *very* nice.

This is quite a nice tobacco. The owner of my tobacco shop gave me this as my first tobacco and I liked it. It's not a wow tobacco but just a good average smoke with a lovely room note

Just about the cheapest, nastiest faux vanilla-based light aromatic that I've ever had the displeasure to pack my pipe with. It lacks character on every count, except those where the character is actively bad. Nasty tongue-bite, harsh smoke, fake lacings - it's all there, with absolutely no redeeming qualities at all (I do not count the cheap price as one, although it does correlate very well with the quality of this blend).

Never again. Ugh.

I was rummaging through a box of old empty tobacco tins recently and found this pouch stuffed into a small airtight jar. I don't even remember where this came from but I know it was either part of a trade or gifted to me. Either way, I apologize to the sender for just getting to this now, as it must be at least 3-5 years old!

Smell in the pouch was a Prince Albert-type deep tobacco aroma with an unmistakable hit of cherry. It wasn't until I got ready to type this that I saw that it's noted here as a vanilla aromatic. No vanilla in my pouch, but very definitely a cherry flavoring. Not strong but very noticeable. The cherry flavor came through in the smoke, as well as the room note (which lingered unappreciatively!). The tobacco was clumped together tightly and I had to kind of rub it out to get it to separate. The virginia and burley were of good quality, with the burley taking the lead. A robust, nutty burley with hints of cocoa and of course the cherry flavoring, while the virginia lent a slight grass and hay element. The java leaf wasn't noticeable in the taste but provided some body and heft, as well as a good bit of nicotine. The cherry taste was a bit more than I prefer, but I'm not a fan of cherry tobacco, so that's a personal idiosyncrasy. If you like cherry but don't want it Gooper-style, this would be one to try. I'm afraid G&H Top Black Cherry is as cherry as I can go. This is closer to Middleton's Cherry Blend but with a bit more cherry and without the teeth. 2.5 stars.

Cheap, simple and flat tobacco. I don't like such aromatics and this one is not an exception. Gave the whole pack to a friend who is a roll-up smoker.

A decent aromatic tobacco, but the only aroma I felt from this is a fruity aroma. From the vanilla I have felt nothing. Recommended for pipe smokers who want to smoke cheap tobacco.
