Affordable Pipes Morning Watch

(2.67)
Virginia's and fine Kentucky and Tennessee Burleys have been combined with other tobaccos to make this a stout and spicy blend. This will please both the aromatic an non-aromatic smoker. Full flavored smoke with an excellent room note.

Don't know that I'd refer to this as "stout," but it has the right amount of strength for me as a morning tobacco. I agree with the first reviewer about how well the tobaccos blend together and as to how subtle the casing flavor is-I'm not an aromatic fan, yet the "aromatics" of this are so subtle as to simply add a delightful dimension of flavor. Morning Watch is now the third blend of Guy Wallace I have tried and like them all. Seems to be quite a good blender. Makes a good first-bowl-of-the-day tobacco.

I am pleased to be the first to review this blend. It is very similiar in character to Fog Cutter (see my review) but Morning Watch is a bit stronger, in my opinion. The Burley, Kentucky and Virginia flavors work well together, complimenting one another, not competing. The casing, or flavoring, whatever it is, is subtle on the palatte, almost an afterthought, but is distinctly present in the room note. A great balance of tobaccos at work here. Not a true aromatic, although you wouldn't know it by the room note. A semi-aromatic is how I describe Morning Watch, as some of the other delicious blends from Affordable Pipes

I got this as a sample from Affordable pipes.Hey one man's yada yada you know how the rest goes. To me the strength of this smoke overwhelms both the taste and aroma.I am an aroma man that loves to inhale through my nose.I could not with this blend due to the acridness of the smoke and nose irritation that made me sneeze.

I tried some of Guy's Navy blend and that is wonderful stuff. So I will keep working my way through his inventory till I find all the good ones but this is not one of them. You have to sift through a lot of mud until you find a nugget.
