This is a delightfully mild flake, not unlike Fribourg & Treyer's Blended Flake. Sweet and reposeful. Nice!

Great blend. Like coming home. Taste like good memories. Comforting. A warm blanket. Everything is right in the world when you sip this semisweet smoke with figgy overtones. Sad to hear that Orlik stops making this. Maybe My Own Blend Brown Rub will satisfy our palates. Luckily I live in Denmark so I Can stockpile this marvelous blend. Tobacco is the only perk being a dane these days.

Hope you enjoyed your stay here!

All the best,

Arko

At first I will say that this tobacco is probably one of finest tobacco ever made . It is a instant satifaction when you are ligthing it up and the satifaction remains all the way to the bottom of your pipe. It have a strong and full tasty taste wich you will witness every time you ligth you pipe up. You will say to yourself , it aint get much any better than this in life. 🙂

It may be hard to find outside Denmark but I´m sure of, that the Scandinavian Tobacco Company will be pleased to export this great outstanding and wonderful tobacco to your country. Write or send a e-mail to them and ask. There are rumors that this tobacco will expire from the sortiment if it not sell much more than now.The trouble is that so few knows about this splending tobacco.

Orlik Brown Sliced is a perfect "kick starter of your day".

Don´t miss it before it´s to late. You can get it send to you from Danish Pipe shop in Copenhagen if you decide that you will be in heaven of a good smoke. THIS IS IT !!

I was fortunate enough to have Copenhagen as my port city for a Scandinavian cruise. With a few hours I rented a bike and pedaled amidst the seeminginly thousands of bikers in Denmark to where I thought the Danish Pipe Shop was located. fortunately for Google street view I recognized the Schwarma shops and did indeed locate it. Their selection was amazing and it took me awhile to find what I wanted.

I specified that I wanted something I could not get in America. The very helpful Dane then told me that they do ship to America, but assured me that Brown Sliced is one of the ones that is not typically available to Americans, so I purchased. I did make some other purchases, but will review those in their respective reviews.

I really enjoyed this and found it a great first pipe of the day on my cruises. I should have bought more than one pouch as I brought little home and just finished my last bowl on the way to work this morning. It is also my birthday so it was a wonderful way to start my day.

I am apparently the only one who thinks the nicotine level is higher than medium, but it does get my heart pumping the way I like. It is Orlik, so the quality is fantastic as would be expected from the blenders of Dunhill Flake. It is different tasting for sure, but in a good way.

I think that this is one of those blends, however, that a clean pipe is a must. Like Sunday Picnic for me, I taste my last bowl for at least the first third of the bowl, which can be wierd depending upon what it was you last smoked.

I am sorry for taking so long with this review, but it is the first of the tabaccos I purchased from the Danish Pipe Shop and I wanted to sing their praises as well. It is definitely the best tobacco shop for the pipe smoker that I have ever visited. The knowledge of the person who helped me was excellent. I wish I knew his name. Anyway, he shared with me that he was incapable of getting a lot of tobaccos he liked from America. Having only a bag of Habana Daydream on me of which I planned to smoke while taking in near the little meremaid, I gave him most of the bag. He gave me some Escudo. I mention this in hope to spur his memory if he is one of the reviewers on this site. If so, thank you for the hospitality and assistance and send me a note, email or something. I would like to order some more of the My Own Blend line, but need some guidance.

I sure wish I could find this on a regular basis. Someone told me there is a Danish website that sells Brown Sliced and I'm sure going to try to find it. I can't understand why Orlik does not import this one into the states.

The descriptive calls this a ribbon, but it is too chunky for that. I think a partially rubbed out flake is more in order. It arrived just a tad too moist to smoke without drying a bit, but the tin note was heavenly and I just grabbed some, stuffed it in a pipe and commenced to puffing.

The Oriental background flavor was simply superb and a perfect compliment to the fine Virginia leaf. I suspect there is some sort of mild casing in Orlik Brown Sliced, but it may just be the combined natural sweetness of the Virginia and Oriental components.

My only complaint, and it is a minor one, is that this little brown blend doesn't pack much wallop (nicotine) which made me draw faster than I should have.

Recently I ordered five pouches of this wonderful flake from Denmark. I had never tried it before, I had tried Golden Slices but it smells too cigarette like. So I thought I give Brown Sliced a try since it has some cavendish in it.

I got my order, and popped a pouch open and the first whiff smelled exactly like Earl Grey tea. I loved it then and there. I rubbed out a flake and let it sit for 20 minus, packed a bowl and... BAM!!! Instant heaven. The aroma is wonderful, smells like light tea(ish) with some very light spices, not too sweet, woodsy, very pleasant, even my wife said it smelled very nice. It is nnlike anything I have tried before, so I can't really compare it to anything. Decent nicotine content, not too much, but just right.

Lites well and stays lit, with only a few relights, but thats just a bad habit of mine trying to relight already lit tobacco. I recently was able to get some Sam Gawith VA Flake for the first time, and to my surprise I hated it, I keep coming back to Brown Sliced. I will be getting more... and more.

If you can get your hands on some, by all means give it a try, and if you don't like it, send it to me, but Im sure you will like it.

This tobacco is different, in a very good way.

I can understand the reference to St. Bruno in the previous review, although I would also say the casing/topping is more along the lines of the muscovado & licorace of Dark Kentucky Flakes. This is a great and tasty tobacco, which I highly recommend. It's smooth, solid and burns beautifully. Typical Orlik.

It doesn't seem to be sold outside of Denmark. However, www.danishpipeshop.com will ship internationally. Place an order. You know you want to.

Strong sliced blend! Natural and good tasting. Lots of nicotine! Rub it out good for a cooler smoke. It's similar to St.Bruno but not as sweet. This is a veterans tobacco and not recommended for beginners or aromatic smokers. Aroma is not much of a crowd pleaser either. I like it, but I like tobacco! Good after dinner smoke, not an all day kind of thing!

Upon opening the tin, I could smell the fantastic quality oriental in the background. It brought childhood memories of the smell in my grandfathers farmhouse in Thessaly, Greece when the tobacco leaves where hanging to dry under shades. A quality smoke, with no tongue bite and a not so objectionable smell in the room. Needs to dry a bit in the air and rubs out quite easily. Sweet Virginia taste with nutty undertones. For me, a much more desirable tobacco than Golden Slices.
