While the form of the tobacco, curlies with a diameter of around 25 mm, is very attractive, I find the smoke somehow unsatisfactory.
What irritates me is the combination of a metallic and a sweet, walnut like taste reminiscent of walnut ice cream.
There are also hints of dried fruit, but the advertised perique is barely noticable.
Furthermore they bite like hell and burn to a very fine, white ash with a tendency to enter my mouth during the end of the smoke, no matter how softly I draw, leaving a disgusting ashy and furry feeling on my tongue afterwards. The burn is quite wet also.
Stoving the tin in the oven for some hours at 75 degrees celsius improved the situation a bit, but usually, I don't like messing with a blenders product.
Maybe a filter would help, but I don't like filters, for they tend to mute the brighter and finer nuances of the smoked weed, leaving me with mostly the taste of the used aromatic components.
It might well be, that I haven't found the right technique to enjoy these curlies yet, so I go with the ice cream and leave them alone.
To be fair I have to add, that the quality of the used leaf and the processing is fine, but the overall olfactory impression, combined with the smoking characteristics, put me off, personally. It might work for you.
