G. L. Pease Horizons
(4.00)
Horizons is a full-bodied English flake composed of mature heirloom Red and Bright Virginias and a generous portion of smoky Turkish Latakia rounded out by just the right portion of Orientals and a touch of Cavendish. These components combine for a smoke that offers a silky mouthfeel and exceptional balance, richly layered in notes of clove, allspice, and smoked hickory, with enchanting zest and a soft sweetness.

TIN NOTE
Rich sweet latakia with the orientals right behind it. Tons of sweetness from the Virginias.
SMOKING NOTES
Deep layered flavour. Orientals take the lead for me, but the Latakia enhances everything with the sublime smokiness. The red Virgians provide a ton of sweetness.
The smoke isn\'t as strong as Night Cap or Quiet Nights. It\'s subtle. It\'s sophisticated. Sipping seemed to work the best. It\'s blended perfectly. Never ever had the taste profile change for me. Very impressed with what Mr. Pease has done.
MECHANICS
Came a little too wet for my taste from the tin , so had to leave it out for 20 minutes. Rubbed out perfectly. Took to light easy. Stayed consistent throughout. No tongue bite. Burned slow and cool. Above average number of relights.
SUMMARY
Although the tin art is retro-futuristic ... i think it should have been more Fantasy orientated . Something done by Alan Lee , or the old D&D artists like Larry Elmore or Todd Lockwood. This blend is something a Dark Elf, Dragon Rider or a Wizard would smoke. It\'s deep dark sweetness in a tin. Love it!!! Stocking up during the next sale!

This is a complex blend with an amazing flavor profile. The Turkish latakia is what really sets this one apart. Nutty, smooth and a little sweat flavors.
The Flake comes with a good moisture level and burned all the way thru the bowl.
I have both rubbed the flakes out and done fold and stuff. Both worked well depending on your mood.
I've gone through a tin and a half since its release. This one does not disappoint, and is for sure in my top 10 list going forward..
