Ken Byron Ventures Dwarven Mine

(4.00)
The first blend in the Sword & Board series. At one third Latakia, this is on the comfy side of medium for Latakia smokers. Generous portions of steamed Virginia, toasted Burley, black cavendish, and Danish toppings make for a smooth smoke. Very similar to Sillem’s Black.

This is an absolutely delicious Aromatic blend, smooth, rich, & creamy - like a kind of pumpernickel chocolatey raisin/fig coffee cake with balance of deep bittersweet & tart elements.

As you get further down the bowl, a nutty element comes across, and it's very enjoyable. It burns down very cleanly - white, consistent ash. Probably too sweet for a repeat over & over, but an every other day delight recommendation for sure!

This is a slightly aromatic American English style of tobacco. It doesn't remind me of Sillem's Black, which it is intended to do, but it does remind me of blends that were popular many years ago that one could purchase from shops like Wilke or Peretti. English in style, but with a nutty burley flavor and just a touch of aromatic. I think it's a great all day smoke for those who like latakia but are not looking for a too heavy or full English blend. The cut lends itself to easy packing. It burns cleanly, with no bite, barely a rough edge and no goop. Excellent.
